This is a good start to the game. It can be very frustrating to play at times due to the way it is. but it's fun (when it is). I highly recommend to play with a controller because trying to play this game while switching and activating powers with a key board and mouse is really fricking frustrating. Never play this game with a keyboard! But overall, as a fan of this franchise, this is pretty good.

Amazing game to start couldn't think that a 2D Pixel game could be so good loved the criativity in making this, the caracthers are also very good designed, excecifically Agatha her voicelines were really awesome but tbh gold watchers are still one of my favourites, the boss fights some can be easy while others can be extremelly painfull to beat same to zone in the game like gold watchers mansion, soundtrack is very good extras in the game are pretty interesting because there is a lot of stuff to unlock and some of the are really cool like the intro of the game I had to admit that was just GOATED, I like the personality of a lot of characthers like malak, and bierce (she makes me laugh sometimes, but also can be annoying) and overall is really a very good game obviosly isn't like original dark deception: Complete edicition was but common monsters and mortals is also very good but I would give this first chapters a 7,7/10 I think (Deadly decadence best part of this chapter 8,3/10) so yes I would recommend this game to other people to play.

Honestly, I totally get the hate this game gets. But as someone who's been playing dark deception since 2019, honestly, this game isn't that bad. Sure, it's unfair and very hard at times, but I still enjoyed it

I'm rewriting this review because their is more stuff i wanna go into more detail for. The game is obviously fun and has nice 2D graphics but each level has it's own problems, but they don't affect it to bad. With Monkey Business, the monkey's are a bit buggy at times, and at the corners with loops they can attack you from both sides; but honestly this does't happen often overall it's the same. Elementary Evil is where unfairness happens and it's only in the second part. Usually avoiding her is easy, just dash away while closing doors behind you to get distance, but in the second part when she teleport, she'll just teleport real close and often in front of you which is very annoying. Weirdly her teleporting takes longer in her fight, but I do wish it was made more clear on where she was going to spawn. With Deadly Decadence, I originally said that they make the watchers work in 2D, and this is true, but they don't work well. If they come at you from the top or bottom, your just kinda screwed. This is made more obvious in the hedge maze rather in the manor though, because you have a more wide area. If they were to fix this I'd have it work like the mannequin patients and the flashlight in Little nightmares 2, where you have a 45 degree cone controlled by some keys (IDK I play with a controller) or the right stick, and when the watchers are in the cone they'ed stop. It make it more fair and easy to deal with them. The Ducky area isn't bad until the last part, the first 2 areas are fine, the second a bit harder, If i can't escape I just go into secret rooms. The boss area is bad mainly because the room is way too small, there's not enough room to fully dodge the ducks that come after you, and it's really difficult to the point where I gave up (might be a skill issue) Despite all the difficulty and balance issues, the game is still fun and definitely different enough from the main game to deserve a bit of play time.
