What happens when first-person shooters (Doom clones would have been a time appropriate term) are very popular and a Christian entertainment studio needs money? That's right, take the engine and concept of Wolfenstein 3D, remove all of the sharp, dangerous topics, and inject the Holy Bible into it. A little company called LJN (I dare you to dive down the rabbit hole that is that company) decided to make these decisions and didn't make a terrible game. It isn't quite to the extent of Capstone scum where you trace Doom sprite work, but Super 3D Noah's Ark (or Super Noah's Ark 3D?) is almost adjacent to the copy and change it a little bit so the it doesn't look like we cheated meme. While the story is new, the visuals are as attractive as three-day-old puke, it is fine for the most part. Noah is tasked with "settling" all of the animals on the Ark down by feeding them excessive amounts of feed. Each episode features everyone's favorite Wolf 3D non-descript maze levels and a new coat of paint for everything. No more Jew-disrespecting people and zany castle designs. Tons of brown hallways, ugly portraits of a few religious figures, and random objects (like cages, seeds, wells, to name a few) slightly diversify levels from another. Hump walls to find secrets and run through tons of 1x1 corridors as Noah is a thick boy. Thankfully, there are a lot less levels than Blake Stone or Wolf 3D (30 levels in total, if I remember right). The weapons are strange, feed slinging machines. Toss seeds by hand, slingshots, a fully automatic seed thrower, seed capsule tossers (you really have to see it), and a melon sling are your weapons of slumber. Definitely big downgrades from Wolf 3D, and the animals (except the weakest ones) take quite a lot to put down and deal decent damage based on distance. Aside from that, it plays basically the same, just a lot more ugly to look at, but at the cost of being a much shorter game (a positive for me really). Not as interesting of a story, but the real story behind the game is much more wild (Angry Video Game Nerd covered LJN games rather thoroughly). Visuals are suitable, but the music gets rather annoying and repetitive as there is a limited track list (limitations of the old system it was originally released on). No bugs or issues encountered during my Hard play through. As for recommendations, it is worth looking into, but you really need to be a fan of Wolfenstein 3D to manage to beat the game. Most probably experienced a few levels and lost interest quick. $9.99 USD is absurd for this title, a sale is much more fitting. Even then, watching someone play a level or two first might help you decide if you will really like it or not.

Surprisingly decent for a re-skin / re-design of Wolfenstein 3D! If you're interested to see what the game is after seeing reviewers such as The Angry Video Game Nerd talk about it, or just want a meme game to gift your friend, this isn't bad at all! 7.5 / 10

Going through each level of this charming game is like watching a shooting star fly before your very eyes.

finally the game where you actually put those animals to sleep by feeding them with grains rather than bullets

Arguably overhated, it's most notable as a weird little story of rights and publishing in the NES/SNES era. It's basically just Wolfenstein 3D for chuchgoing kids, with a handful of interesting tweaks on the formula. It's hard to be too hard on it, it's just too goofy to hate. For historians or boomshoot completionists only.
