Nice and entertaining little building toy, but there aren't many pieces to play with or backgrounds to build against which limits your creative options. You unlock a few bits but it needs quite a few more imo, lots more building types, roof types, etc. You can build a lot of different buildings but they all look kinda the same few types. Also, they're confusingly ordered and if you turn off pixellation fx on the main screen, the catalogue images are still pixellated. so it becomes a bit of a guessing game what size thing you're going to get or what it will say on a sign. I can't imagine anyone can tell the difference between the 6 wooden building blocks without using trial and error to learn the order -- they're just different brown smudges in the build screen. It's charming and I liked it but it's pretty limited, feels like it's a cool digital Fuzzy Felt, but with only half the pieces. More pieces and backgrounds and it will be better for it.

A very relaxing and simple straight-to-the-point sandbox game about just laying back and enjoying that warm, digital breeze while building some houses. I can't help but love it. It's not the type of game to keep you engaged for the "long run", instead more like a "fun run". Sincerely, Summerhouse is best enjoyed in small, few, compact sessions with a hot cup of coffee on a hot summer evening. Strong recommendation!

This is an extremely cute house building game. One thing however, I did find it a little frustrating if I place down an item then wanting to move it, I'd have to delete the item then go back into the item menu and select it from there. Another thing is I wish we could choose the colour of items. Certain items are one colour in menu (take example the graffiti) then it's a different colour once you place it. The tutorial is also a little lacking. It can be confusing sometimes with the popups. I think there should be a quick tutorial to show how to play the game. Overall though, I enjoyed playing this game.

I saw others play this game and it screamed Cozy to me. It is in fact cozy however its not my cup of tea. I can't put my finger on it but I grew bored rather quickly. I unlocked all of the bonus characters and used a clicking Macro for the 10K achievement as there is no way I would play long enough to get it. HOWEVER I see no reason to down vote this game. I see the appeal and its absolutely beautiful, just not for me.

SUMMERHOUSE is a quaint and relaxing little game with an enchanting art style. Or rather, it's about 80% of a game. Keeping in mind that it's a one-man project, there are certain glaring things missing from it that I personally would have made sure to add before release. - The ability to simply click to drag an object to move it is just a strange feature not to include, and makes every action twice the amount of work it should be. - The available selection of items to decorate with is simply too small most of the time. Some strange choices were made by the designer of which item varieties there are enough of and which not - there are three parasols, but only one (strangely huge) plastic chair and one plastic table to put under them. There are several advertisement signs but only one lamp, and none of them light up at night. Even just different colour varieties of items to pick from would add loads of artistic freedom. - The UI falls short. There is no scroll bar and scroll sensitivity is low. Items of wildly different sizes show up as the same size in the menu, so you have no idea what you're getting. Items are also highly pixelated in the menu to the point of being unrecognizable at times. Menus will frequently reset to the top half the time, and several times they bugged out completely. - The textures of placeable items frequently clash with each other's meshes. Certain items that are supposed to be stuck to a wall can not be put at the correct depth to actually stick to the wall, either sitting inside or floating in front of it. Side scrolling reveals that the sides of any wall block or roof block are completely untextured. So after that laundry list of problems, do I recommend the game? Yes. It's gorgeous and meditative. It's an impressive effort for one man to have made. Really, my only hope is that the author continues to fix the problems above and add more items/colour options. With these issues adressed the game would be simply excellent.
