Cosmic Horror, But Make It Sexy This game made me feel things I wasn’t emotionally or cosmically prepared for. The art? Gorgeous. The voice acting? Uncomfortably good. The plot? Well, let’s just say it’s not if you’ll die horribly, but how much you’ll enjoy it when it happens. This is peak "horny on main" energy for anyone who’s ever looked at an elder god and thought, "Yeah, I could fix her." Turns out, you can’t. But at least you’ll die trying, and maybe get a smooch out of it.

Sucker for Love is a pretty simple dating sim, but what it lacks in depth it makes up in its aesthetics and writing. The 90s anime sheen infused into every aspect of the visuals ls well-considered and hits the perfect nostalgia spot, and paired with cute cosmic horrors, the game is just beautiful to look at. Personally, I would have preferred the girls to be a little more abstract, rather than being squeezed rather cleanly into sexy body types, but I can't really fault the direction taken instead - this is a game operating in multiple niches, so it needs to have something with broader appeal. I really enjoyed the tone of the narration and dialogue - the game takes itself just seriously enough to feel sincere, while still featuring a relentlessly horny protagonist and deeply funny character archetypes in the two main love interests. I had a lot of true laugh-out-loud moments playing through both of their routes, and there's even a smattering of that same tone in the otherwise much more serious final act, which I appreciated. What I was less fond of was how the game hard-pivots to a quick-twitch point-and-click action style for the final segment. It's an extremely jarring change of pace, and I had a ton of trouble keeping up with it, though this was probably a self-imposed Steam Deck handicap given the relative precision needed for the mouse-based challenges. It definitely left me feeling a little cold to finish the game, and it seems like the second game is a lot more of that, which is a little disappointing given how fun the dating-sim aspects of this one are. In short, though, Sucker for Love is a super fun, quick-hit dating sim, and it's definitely worth your time if any single aspect of it appeals to you. ln'eta best girl

It's glitchy, short, rough around the edges and the puzzles can never find that place between simple and frustrating. And yet... The writing is goofy, the voice acting is fun, and the protagonist is... well... "too stupid to live, too horny to die" is an underrated trope. Well worth the time, needs you to meet it halfway, snag it when its on sale.

The newest game reminded that this game also rocks. If you like visual novels with lite horror elements with mixed in comedy go for it...or if you've never played anything like this just try it. 10/10
