I've loved this game since it was out as a flash game. This contains all 10 of the Submachine flash games in chronological order. The art is great, the story is amazing, I cannot recommend this game more! Cannot wait for more from this developer!

Short version: If you like point and click puzzle games and haven't played Submachine, you need to play it. Learn your roots. You Will thank yourself. It's a masterpiece Long version: Like a lot of people, I played the series back in the flash days. I was pretty young though, so I never got to the final chapter because I didn't feel smart enough, lol. Playing back through the series was amazing, and I love how well Legacy knits all of the chapters together. There are so many things I love about this game, from the handrawn art to the riveting atmosphere and story, to the mind-bending, one of a kind puzzles. It has a world you could get lost in, and a subtle but (in my opinion) perfect soundtrack that sets the tone really well. I was a kid when I first played these games, and I spent a lot of time imagining being a Subnet explorer. When I got to the end, I cried because of how much this series means to me. It felt so good to play these games again, and all I want is for more people to experience the wonder and awe that I have. Submachine: Legacy just well might be the best point-and-click out there.

Long ago, during the golden age of game design that was the Flash game era, there were many very good escape room point and click puzzle games. One gems of a game series stood above the rest with its stunning visuals and atmosphere: Submachine. This collection lets you rediscover all 10 beautifully remastered chapters of the desolate sci-fi multiverse that is the Subnet.

This is such a nostalgic, yet refreshing experience. I mean I did buy the HD versions before, but this is even better and smoother. Man, the difference between original Sub2 controls and this is night and day. Wish they kept the original sounds though, even though I understand why they didn't as some of them were really low quality. I know, because I have decompiled some of the SWF files back then. What do I miss the most? Probably the original FLF logo with bells and the good old music that used to play there --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-R0e38nWAw. Also gotta say wisdom gems and energy gems sounded way more badass :D

I relived my childhood yet again. This review will be short. Gameplay - It is refreshing to see the inventory is accessible by right-clicking now. I miss the original inventory like in Submachine 9, you need to combine the Turquoise Button to the Navigator, the subtle glowing of items—little details which is lost with this new inventory system. But overall, it is easier to access and looks cleaner to look at. - I'm glad that this is more than a packaged Submachine 1-10. Additionally, all of the games are interconnected—adding a new mechanic to the games in which finding the Monoliths for the Shattered Quadrant level (I did not expect Submachine Universe got a revamp lol). - Since introducing new puzzle twist, I thought I was missing a spoon (in Submachine 1) or a Valve (in Submachine 7). Overall, I like when it made you stop and think what new twist on how to progress the story—changing little parts of the gameplay but it does not ruin the experience a whole lot. - A great function added in the game is an indication if there's an item required in a specific place. What a life saver. In the old days, it's up to you to find these blindly lol. Appearance & Animation - Now utilizing the full screen, artworks can be shown in full 16:9 which is nice. Also new artwork like in the introduction, Shattered Quadrant, and Submachine 10. - Since this is not the flash version anymore (obviously lol). The animation in the 32 Chambers/The Sand when opening the box of sand looks like a paper thin, same with Submachine 10 ending, with paper thin karma hand—like what happened huhu . I liked more the flash animation more. Sadly, it looked a bit cheap in Legacy to be honest. Now, I do not know what challenges Mateusz Skutnik have seen while making Legacy, and I believed he did his best despite of the software limitation or other. In the end, that's the only 2 complaint I have in the animation part. Sound Design - I like the game has an option whether if you want the original or the new sounds. I'm a bit disappointed. As I turned original sounds for nostalgia, not all sound are original. Also, I find annoying the "machine turning on" sfx on every activation of something. Some of the interaction do not even match the sound design or any the og sound from the flash has been striped/changed in this version (even the original sound is turned on). I miss those sfx. I really give thanks to you, Mateusz Skutnik. For making this remaster for everyone and localizing the currency rate here for my country! My first purchase here is steam and also support you is worth it.
