Very cool game that gives me Rogue Squadron or Ace Combat vibes! Its selling points are: *A level-based structure with a strong narrative where you have large-scale fights against fleets, capital ships and bases as a pilot taking on various objectives with their allies. It's quite the breath of fresh air as it seems like every other space flight games wants to do open-world nowadays, and while that's nice, sometimes you just want pure concentrated dog-fighting action and bombastic scripted scenarios! *A great power fantasy as you pilot a jet that can transform into a badass Gundam/Jehuty-esque mech. It's very fun to get skilled at switching between the two forms to best suit the situation: close in quickly with the jet's thrusters, switch to the mech to fast-turn and then unload a barrage of missiles in Itano Circus style to obliterate an entire capital ship and its escorts. Way more involved combat than your typical jet dogfights where you just circle around constantly! *High replayability with a scoring/medal system, special bonus objectives that unlock new upgrades and ships, multiple difficulty levels, and even a bonus arcade version of the game called Strike Suit Infinity! *Really cool vibes and music that reminds me of stuff like Homeworld, Ghost in the Shell, Zone of the Enders, Gundam and more! If I were to have any complaints about the game, it would be that getting the controls all configured can be a bit of a pain: had to go through a lot of remapping and even then, I wasn't able to figure out how to invert Y properly so I just got used to it. Also the unlocks you get from bonus objectives seem a bit superfluous, especially the other jets because they don't have the strike suit to go with it: what's the point of that? I guess you can treat it as a bonus difficulty mode.

If Kira Yamato is a homeworld pilot. Pros: Fun Arcade space sim Cons: Setup is limited and tends to be problematic. In my experience: Flight stick roll has been reversed, Gamepad right analog has some movement reversed as well.

This game is really fun in the first stages. The dog fights are extremely satisfying to do. However, it gets very frustrating in the endgame, and you can basically only rely on your mecha-form to defeat the enemies. Some of the missions, like "kill 40 units of a certain ship" don't seem to track well either. But it's an overall fun game. Flying in the beginning stages is always cool
