Pretty neat VR parkour action game. I only have a few points of criticism: 1. I find it really difficult to see the enemies in the arena mode. They blend into the background so well that more often than not I only notice they're there at all when I hear them shooting at me, and even then I often have to look around for a good ten seconds or more trying to realize where they are shooting from, hoping that they won't kill me during that time (which did actually happen one time). 2. I have no idea what some of the powerups in the arena mode actually do. Having some sort of explanation would be nice (why not at least display their names in the vending machine?) I've been playing areba for a few hours now but I have no idea what the soda can pickup is good for. 3. It sometimes doesn't register when you try to shoot your pistol with Index controllers because the game expects you to pull the trigger all the way until it clicks the very end instead of only about halfway as in basically every other VR shooter. I was able to get used to this after some time, but it certainly confused the hell out of me during the tutorial, making me think the gun controls are glitched or something.

Basically Mirror's Edge VR I can't overstate how fun the game feels when you get into the right groove. The speed and free controls are exactly what I expected and really feels like I'm running across a treacherous brutalist megacity. There's three modes: Arena, Endless, and Timerun. In Arena, you're given a big-yet-small area to run around in. You're given specific objectives that you have to accomplish within a time limit. In Endless, you have to run through a procedurally generated city from an encroaching wall of... corruption stuff I guess. Since you can't really run infinity meters at once, you'll die eventually, but the point is just to go as far as possible. The procedurally generated part is done in chunks, so it's difficult to notice any bad transitions or janky areas, but can get a little samey if you're playing for a while. In Timerun, you're given short, curated levels that you have to run through as fast as possible. The 3-star goal timer is enough to get just a few seconds under if you're familiar with the controls. Since running is done by swinging your arms, it's very tiring to play for an extended period of time, but the gameplay is great enough that I want to keep playing even when my body doesn't. Some might think the physical exertion is a downside, but why not get some good exercise while playing a fun game? Speaking of exercise, there is also a calorie tracker in the game. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it's fun to see all the time you've played actually having a point. Now, I'm not 100% praises. The jumping functionality is done by holding the jump button, then swinging your arms up and releasing. Obviously, this does replicate actual freerunning, you can't just spring into the air at will. However, it requires significant movement, and that means if you're not putting a lot of effort into swinging, your jump gets "swallowed" and you just run off the ledge. That could just be a skill issue, but I've seen that this is a complaint quite a few other players share. Overall, this game is really fun and really exhausting.

Some of the best movement I've felt in VR to this day, the solo mode can get repetitive, but the sequal's gonna have a campaign so that'll be fixed in the next game.
