was hesitant to give this the time of day because it's confusing and aimless at first. after exploring and seeing what the game wanted me to do, it became a neat yume nikki-inspired puzzle game. doesn't overstay its welcome. solutions made me feel clever, even if many of the puzzles have no indicator as to the solution. some solutions are simply too hard to find and rely on randomly calling the right number, but that only matters if you care to 100%.

definitely an interesting experience. the puzzles are... puzzling, but still fun to solve. 6-digit combination is a little much when there are only around a couple dozen of worlds. aside from being confused majority of the time, i enjoyed it.

A surreal exploration game in the likes of Yume Nikki or LSD, where you can enter a telephone number to explore a map. I really like the visuals and the different maps you can explore, only downside is that even if you're the type that enjoys exploring and trying things, it can be really hard to progress without a guide in some parts. That being said if you enjoy this type of game and given the low price, I would recommend it.

If you enjoy surreal, charming, ambient experiences that just keep you asking questions, this is a game for you! I try not to compare to other games in reviews but it's hard not to say this is clearly a love letter to Yume Nikki, yet unique enough to stand out too. I admit some of the phone numbers and puzzles are a little esoteric to find, but once I found them I appreciated it. I'd never heard of the mobile version or anything about the game's history so answers related to that were lost on me, and I turned to hints from community discussions. I'll definitely be looking at other works from this dev in the future!

Strange telephone is a really surreal, aesthetic, and neat adventure game. The grand bulk of the game is walking around testing out random numbers and finding new secrets. It's not a game for everyone but it's such a cool game for those who like that style. It's only 5 bucks so I think it's worth a try even if you are on the fence. I really enjoyed my time with it.
