This is an unenthusiastic recommended from me. I paid about three bucks for this game on sale and I cannot imagine paying anything more. The normal price is insane and completely ridiculous to charge for a game of this quality. Asking for 1/4 of the full price would still be pushing it, despite the amount of work the devs put into it- most everything is repetition, which is expected with these sort of games, but there are more issues than just that. I'm going to criticize this game in my review, but I didn't have a bad time playing it. Not for the most part, at least. Stranded Sails was kinda fun at times and I mostly enjoyed playing it, actually looking forward to getting back into the game the next day when I'd take breaks. The title screen has a bug report feature, which is cool. But the title has a bug report feature?? How many issues with this game are there to have enough bugs years after its release to still deem this necessary? Luckily, I only encountered one problem that wasn't game breaking, just kinda inconvenient considering the issue had to do with decorating cottages for the islanders, which is shoved in your face as the main way to boost your relationship with them and get perks. Good thing there isn't that much of an emphasis on 100%ing everyone's relationship here. I don't think I maxed a single relationship and still finished the game with all the achievements. Whatever the devs wanted to reward the player for seem so random, as if they spun a wheel and decided, "Yes, the player will have to collect all the... hats. The hats, yes." The biggest problem to me is the battle system, which is unfortunate since it's not exactly a huge part of the game and only comes into play at the end, so you'd think it'd be easy to forgive. The main story has a few fights to grind through, which wasn't too tedious, just... boring. If that wasn't enough to satisfy you, then you can choose to snatch the achievements for slogging through waves of literally the same few basic enemies! You'd like to think there'd be a way to prepare and strategize for any of the game's battles, but surprise! The only thing you can do is click the mouse to attack. You can't counter, block, or even dodge (unless you count awkwardly sprinting away when you're about to get attacked.) If there was a decent system and diverse enemies/bosses, sure, make us fight consecutive battles over and over. There are literally four different enemies that come in three different sizes and they do exactly the same thing. It was so painfully boring getting through that part of the game. If you don't collect achievements, then you can skip this part with no repercussions, luckily. Overall, Stranded Sails weakly emulates more popular farming/relationship building type games like Stardew, Harvest Moon, and My time at Portia. All with a price tag that rivals those titles while being a considerably more boring and content deprived game. I don't want to leave a negative review on this game because I don't necessarily think it's bad, it's just not in the same league as other similar games. If you decide to get this, do it when it's really, really, really, really on sale.

Great little game, especially for the price! Absolute pleasure to play through, and not too hard to 100% either. Only experienced one bug, but it was easily fixable with the in-game warp feature. Seriously recommend to anyone that likes laid back collectathon games with some simple combat elements and a solid story.

Great game for the discounted price (Approx $3). Other players compared this to Stardew Valley, I feel like that's a poor comp. The buildings, story/relationship progression are very linear. With that said, the graphics music and game play is great. Actually enjoyed the fishing game. Low difficulty knocked out 100% completion in 29 hours playing casually.

It's more or less 40 hours of playtime to get 100% achievements. Little cooking, building and a lot of searching to get all the buildings and decorations. It was on sale and NO BUGS - Life is but a dream it's like the song - rinse and repeat Row, row, row your boat Gently down the stream Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily Life is but a dream

Stranded Sails is a cute game. Other than getting stuck on a rock or floating off the pyramid there are very few bugs. I wish the recipe game was a bit less MasterMind and a bit more interesting, but with a guide it was easy enough to get that achievement. I didn't actually do much fishing, I mostly won my more rare fish from the battles. I tried to fish the rarest fish but didn't manage to collect a single one, just passing out from exhaustion. It's all very linear and "fetch questy", but not in a very annoying way. I don't see any re-play value, and admit that I bought it on sale. Definitely not worth it full price. Wait for a large discount.
