Some of us hate our jobs, media, student loans and want to escape to a quiet island. Just from the time it took writing this review with the game running in the background, my fire went out from running out of wood (unrealistic) That sort of thing will kill this game from ever being excellent. The time clock runs SO fast. I mean jeez 24 hr day compressed into what 30 minutes I'm guessing? The sun exposure is clever but that takes days not minutes to be an issue. I have 4000 hours of play into Farming Simulator, a lot of that was just hanging around enjoying the fruits of my labor so to speak. At least put in a exploration/enjoyment mode like Subnautica did so people could enjoy the game without worry about time pressure, etc. Crabs in real life really cant hurt a person easily so take away things like my health going down because a crab attacked me. Save that stuff for the Tiger sharks, jellyfish etc. It shouldn't be a chore to cook crab, make cooking fun. Sadly the fire running out was the last straw. I really don't want to hobble (broke me leg climbing a tree) around the island to find more wood just so it can burn out in a few minutes while I read a Merry Xmas text message. I was really excited to play this and push further but I'm going to quit now in hopes someone will reply to tell me this has been updated to the game I so want it to be. What stinks is I didn't even get to go swim around the coral reefs or do anything fun yet... Definitely worth giving them $10 even for donation on sale to further progress this game but I really hope this can become a relaxing, survival getaway rather than always work and drama. I feel rushed and doing chores and never get to sit and relax and enjoy. Just always in a hurry to go from one task to another. This game should be slowed WAY down to where the user can control the speed of time so you can explore, enjoy the campfire, sunset, etc and not always be thirsty, hungry, tired and sun burnt from barely being in the sun. I like the idea of sun exposure but you burn up way too fast.

Great potential, but feels like a half finished game. Firstly, I love the premise of this game and the game-play, graphics and mechanics are sound. However I can't help but feel like the developers gave up on it half way through. I made the switch from console to PC for this game because of major bugs and crashes on the console version. The games building mechanic is decent, although I don't enjoy how base foundations work with the terrain. The main issue is there's barely anything to PUT in your base. Crafting base facilities is limited. Scavenging is fun but quickly becomes 'same-y' (two types of island, half a dozen kinds of ship wrecks), and many of the items you find are useless and you end up stockpiling with no use - Including the fact that there were resources that had ZERO in game use (looking at you wavulavula!!). All in all I felt there was so much potential in this game and it could've gone so much further but the developer decided to just walk away. I'm honestly hoping they make a sequel and put more effort in, or something else expands on the concept in a much better way. The disappointment is coming back to game after a long break and realising there just isn't enough interesting things in the game to keep you engaged.
