Purchase, start downloading, go make some coffee, get back to the keyboard, press play, sip some coffee, start new game, sip some coffee more… And then... Find yourself in the morning sitting back with another cup of coffee reading credits. Well played. ... And the game is great.

A surprisingly emotional game. I thought I had a handle on where things were going, but it kept surprising me with its genuine, heartfelt storytelling. This visual novel is interspersed with various technical puzzles, and for the first time, I can say that the puzzles in a game didn't feel like they were for me. I found myself growing tired of trying to understand the in-game manual to figure out which switches and knobs to flip and turn just so I could progress the story I was invested in. Maybe it's the juxtaposition of very basic, fairly linear storytelling with very complicated, instruction-based puzzles that felt like a mismatch. Or perhaps this might be a case of "it's not the game, it's me;" I might have just lacked the focus and patience to enjoy solving these kinds of puzzles today. Still, I loved the storytelling and the characters, and I'm very happy I got around to playing it!

The puzzles are cool and challenging, but the story kinda sucked. The protagonist is way more immature than Im comfortable with, especially as a (presumably) 40-something year old. Spoiler for chapter 5 with example: Gorky is a machine, doing what it is programmed to do. There is no situation where you are ever justified at getting mad at his actions or feel betrayed by him. On top of that, he is your direct superior, so the fact that he is sending performance evaluations to Brane Co should be expected. Also, Karl doesnt like Gorky at the start of the game. BUT During the course of the story, you learn to like Gorky, and the computer starts to develop feelings and a more independent personality. If you look at the emails, you notice that he hasnt said anything mean about Karl, even way before they started to become friends. Getting mad at Gorky is absolutely unjustified, considering that he was only doing what his programmed to do, and even stopped as soon as he started appreciating the protagonist more. This is especially silly, when you consider that Karl cannot get mad at the mass-murder-terrorist and forgives her immediatly.

A beautiful story of love, with some very touching characters and speech. A fun little (occasionally serendipitous) tumble through some puzzles in a wonderfully drawn environment. A hearty thank you to the devs. Do support this, you won't regret it

Excellent game! The story is great and had me in tears at some points. The puzzles are hard and engaging (I did have to look a couple of things up) and remind me of Zachtronics' games. This has become one of my favourite games ever. Definitely give it a try if it looks interesting to you.
