Here's a question. As a kid, do you remember the first time you'd seen a Hamster cage? One of those clear containers and whomever also had connected rooms to it, so your Hamster could go exploring up, down, and anywhere in it? That's sort of like what Stellar Settlers is like, a game where you build in 3-D. Only without Hamsters leaving little raisins everywhere they go, and possibly eating their own young. The game is, actually, kinda meh to me. Sure, it's cool to plop buildings down and connect them with tunnels, and staffing them with NPCs, that serve to increase production or provide some sort of bonuses. You can get more NPCs periodically. You can research new rooms that provide benefits and even some have drawbacks, in that they'll provide extra of a resource at a cost of another, but it may be worth it. You ultimately research a rocket platform to build a rocket and escape the planet and onto another scenario to be unlocked. But that's about it. There's no combat, no defense. It's all dull and shallow, in my opinion. It is however cool to erect a city because no two players may arrive at the same layout, due to building rotation and tunnels to connect them. I rate the game about 6 out of 10. I'm sorry for a shoddy review. I kinda find it both lackluster and somewhat fun at the same time. I'd recommend "Let's Play...Stellar Settlers" on YouTube before buying to see if the game is for you. LIke I said, it's dull. But there is the charm of creating a "Hamster habitat" for your NPCs.

Fun settlement builder with a solid underlying premise and easy to grasp game play loop. 1) Arrive on planet. 2) gather resources. 3) Build settlement. 4) Build rocket. 5) launch rocket and reach the required altitude in the time allotted to "win". 6) Return to 1 on the next location. There are some minor glitches (transport and mining drones may stop their animations after a while, but they're still working being one of them), but you can overlook it and the devs are aware and working on finding the culprit of the behavior.

cool little game, putting a review up on my youtube tomorrow on Robot RTS, but to dot point it out: -cool art style, nice little animations, would love for more moving buildings but definitely heading in the right direction -cool concept for city builder on alien worlds, would love some more interactions like alien tribes that you can ally for buffs or destroy for resources or something -i didnt like the vertical tunnel joining systems, it felt like a cup stacking simulator, if you were going for a puzzle type game i guess its alright, but for me i thought it ruined the aesthetic of the city. definitely keen to watch this one as it goes on to full release, great concept keep up the good work.

I just got this game and finished the first planet - what I can say so far: It's fun, although at times a bit grindy, at times stressful - overall feels well balanced to me. Building feels okay. IMO middle mouse button clicking an already built structure = select the same structure to build again would be a huge QoL upgrade - Satisfactory does this and I use it a lot. The resource/min screen seems either broken, or I simply do not understand it. I had all resources listed as diminishing at a time, while all of them were actually rising continously. No idea if that was a bug or my fault. Figuring out where your settlers with low morale are to grab them and put them in a building that ups their morale (or just putting settlers in any other building, really) can be a bit tedious. IMO it would be better if you got a list of all settlers whenever clicking "assign" in a building, even those that already are in a different building (with a small indicator that you would remove them from their current job). Would save quite a bunch of clicks. But all this is just small things. The game is fun and has a great basis for being so early in development - in fact it feels like playing a finished game already. I expected a lot more roughness and issues from an early access game. Kudos to the devs, looking forward to seeing this mature. While it may not have the most content yet, I can already fully recommend giving it a try if you like more relaxed base building games. I had fun on my first planet, and will give the others a try in the upcoming days.

I have played the demo before, and with the release, I bought it immediately. It is a really fun game with a lot of creativity given to the player to build however. If you like building houses in survival games, you will like building your base on this one. It is hard enough to make you think but it is not frustrating which is fun. It is also not a game where you need to be active constantly and it is almost half idle? idk but I really love to play it, if you like the genre, 100% recomend
