I have to say, the start of the game is incredibly boring. I understand these games need suspenseful intros and granted - when it hit me, it hit me GOOD. However me having to wait around just standing there and doing nothing for 30-35 minutes just for the intro just felt ridiculous. But hey, maybe I was the problem? I just feel like I did my objectives fairly quickly and was then forced to literally just stand around and be useless. There is an Arcade that you can play but that got old for me after 3 deaths. Perhaps it's a way for the devs to stop people from refunding the game early? Whatever it is, sucks that this is the way it is. With all that said, I have to admit Stay Out of the House must be my favourite entry from Puppet Combo games, in all seriouseness. Additional points for this game not relaying heavily on just ear-blasting screaming, and while yes - there is a little of that, it uh - can be *helped* I guess you could say, AND the devs graciously offered us a specific slider in the audio settings dedicated to screamers. Love to see that, because that's number 1 reason why I often have a hard time enjoying Puppet Combo's games, if they insist on making you go deaf before the age of 30 because, you know - loud = scary. In all seriouseness though, the scariest sh*t in this game is when you're focused on doing something, like aiming your screwdriver into a screw obscured by the horrible lighting, hands shaking as you hear steps in the distance slowly approaching, closer and closer, and you try to greed it a little bit because I mean SURELY you can make it... And the steps suddenly come much closer and much quicker, and in a second you're getting your ribs rearranged. Lack of any music here other than the sound ques is absolutely terrifying. Puzzles here are pretty straight forward, but there is a lot to do, and it's a good thing. The layout of the house is fun in that regard and you're never really lost. Though toward the end of the game I did get stuck for literally an hour, but turns out that to put it simply - gamers never look up xd Lastly, I LOVE the setting for this game! A young woman kidnapped and held prisoner in a farm. Makes you feel naked and vulnerable. The killer himself gives me a vibe of a beautiful mix of Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part 2, absolutely perfect combo in my opinion! I also have to mention the AI is actually really fun to go against here. The Butcher has a routine, he walks around doing his thing, going back and forth, grabbing more meat and chopping. There's things you can do in the world that will make him get angry. He's a relentless hunter but it is also possible to run away from him. You can try hiding in the vents, but if he notices you - he will run and try to lure you out. He can also sometimes sneak up on you very well. All this makes him feel very genuine, like it's not an artificial difficulty, or a scripted one. Very much enjoyed that! Also, before I finish this off - I would love for Puppet Combo to ditch the save system. I feel it's pretty useless, because, for me personally anyway - whenever I would get caught I would simply load the game. Yes, the saves are limited, but there's easily more than enough for you to save every now and then whenever you make some amount of progress. Ditch this mechanic, and instead maybe give us a variety of possible death animations, you know - a little more something like Granny had (and to clarify, I'm not a big fan of Granny but admittedly that game can stand it's own ground, I just thought that part of Granny would fit here a lot better than what we have). Keep the mechanic where getting caught means waking up in a different room, with a different puzzle, each time getting you closer to actual death - I feel like that would be just perfect. Of course, I'm not expecting for this to suddenly become a reality after so much time has passed, but if not that, then at least maybe for the future? ;) Besides, a man can dream :P In conclusion - the start of the game sucks wrinkly balls, but the rest of the game is absolutely amazing!

Really enjoyed the vast majority of this game. It establishes an atmosphere and never lets go of it throughout the entire duration- some insanely good ambience here. Genuinely quite scary at times, and I appreciate the sparsity of cheap jumpscares. Scares are mostly earned through tension, which is great. While the bulk of the game is 10/10, some of the longer puzzle sections are truly just tedious and sap away any fear that was previously earned, replaced with the "please let this part end" type of feeling that I fear most games try to avoid. When you get over those sections it goes back to being really good though. As for the endings, I think they all suck. Majorly, majorly disappointing given how much work goes into figuring out how to beat the game. One ending in particular requires such a sheer amount of effort that the cutscene you're presented with feels like the developer trolling you; do not dare to assume that your character can have even one satisfying climax, even if you go out of your way for the harder secret ending. I just doesn't feel like my work was at all rewarded. I wholeheartedly recommend this game but I can't say enough times how upset I am that the endings just didnt deliver- a generational horror game that falls short at what should be the final and most memorable beat, each time. [B] EDIT: I just want to come back to this and say that, while I was very frustrated with the endings initially, that has mostly waned with time & I am left with only fond memories of this game. It is the best horror game I have ever played. I wish I could erase my memory and play it for the first time again. The atmosphere is unlike anything else, and it refuses to relent for the entire runtime. Do yourself a service and play it immediately. I don't want to remove my original review cos it's how I genuinely felt, but I was maybe a bit harsh. [B]

One of the most uncompromising and consistently harrowing survival-horror titles I've ever endured. I adore all things horror and I can with some confidence say that this may very well be one of the most relentlessly frightening experiences I've felt so mercilessly immersed in. It has it's fair share of problems, more than once I took a cheap or glitchy death and lost progress due to a bugs but even that couldn't keep me away. The trail & error moments can be incredibly disheartening and escape truly feels hopeless throughout... But for me, it made conquering the brutal trials and chipping away at the many challenges before you made it feel more rewarding when the walls fall and progress is at long last cemented. SOOTH is impossibly engaging in ways that few games can manage. Your survival is constantly being questioned and tested in ways that border on the supremely sadistic. Yet no matter how tense I felt, how frustrated I was when failure set me back, I just couldn't keep away from this monster of a survival horror experience. Top marks from coming from a horror aficionado and enthusiast. This game is rivaled only by Alien: Isolation & Amnesia: The Bunker in terms of game play scope and raw unimaginable terror. Consider yourself warned, this game does not mess around. It's an endlessly daunting nightmare and one that I just couldn't put down or get out of my head.

Perfect game to show that games don't need modern graphics to have a powerful effect! I loved everything about this game, I was terrible at it lol but enjoyed every minute and hour (10hrs+) for me to beat but I enjoyed taking my time and really feeling out the vibe and atmosphere of the game without guides. The graphics are actually really nice and do so well to capture the horror aesthetic of the game, same with the sound everything is spot on. I screamed many times in tense moments throughout the game. Such a gem of a game in the horror genre! I hope more people will try this game and support Indie Games/Devs Amazing job! <3 12 out of 10 BUY NOW!
