Great game! Love the overall atmosphere of surviving in an alien dessert. Having no compass forces you to learn landmarks. Very interesting mechanics. Only gripe is the aiming point is white and very hard to see in the daylight. I just put a tiny piece of black tape on my screen... ;) All good.

If you are into hardcore survival games, this game should work for you. It’s not hardcore as in it’s difficult, it’s actually pretty easy, it’s hardcore as in it’s grindy and checks all the boxes for a “survival” game. It’s the classic, made by a small team, indie game that is rough around the edges and meant for a small audience (even though I’m sure the devs would disagree with that). No game breaking bugs, but it’s rough in that area. Still had fun with it, would recommend if you’re a fan of the genre and have played all the others like me.

Mixed Feelings! Get it if you like grindy games and got enough patience, because you're gonna spend tons of time auto-running or auto-riding. After an hour I wanted to uninstall because it felt like walking through endless sand-nothings, farm a few resources, rinse and repeat. The distances are way too far imo. Apart from perhaps catching 1 beetle (later, once you got the tool) there's nothing to do between scattered places but autorun and hope you don't loose your direction while doing so. Few gamechangers which kept me playing bit longer: 1) Turn of alien worms in settings or play on easy (wtf... trapped on an island for an eternity to finally bring one of these down with your starter spear?! This isn't "medium" difficulty, but a waste of time) 2) Tame a Camel asap; rides from place to place are still long, but not painfully long as on foot 3) Craft couple leather water sacks asap, starter flask won't keep you alive while traveling, not even on "easy" (...) 4) Craft a backpack to carry more than a handful items at once (super-small starter-inventory for whatever reason...) Then exploring the map becomes enjoyable, though story-mysteries and "puzzles" are scarce as well. Most of the game is base-building in several places, farming & crafting, then transporting mats from a to b. Storywise I made it until past the "door", before it got too tedious yet again. Vital stuff plus your camel remains on the other side and it takes minutes to get back and forth. Perhaps it's just me, but after jumping around couple hours and no luck with googling where to find the ominous "last Oasis" it's perhaps too well hidden? So that's finally it, for me.

I really loved this game and will never forget the first moment one of the scary bugs came out at me...it's sad the devs abandoned this game. The desert theme was amazing, and I loved taming the camels event though it was slightly wonky to handle. I will return to this game for sure.

The desert theme is really cool in this game, just wandering the huge expanse of the map at different times of the day can be pretty entertaining. The scenery is amazing and early exploration is almost daunting, which makes it a fun challenge. Later game play can be a bit annoying, but it balances out with a pretty big boost in movement/defensive abilities. The game changes a bit as you go, which is pretty cool and keeps you on your toes. Solid but simple survival game with a nice little story attached
