wow, is a negative crowd to have to crawl over. I have a few hrs in so far and yeah, it has bugs but there are some work arounds for some of them. Nothing game breaking yet. Grab their discord, hints and tricks and get informed before you play. Played through most of the game in self host mode then started another play through online. Most of the time at this point is only 5 players max. I was able to get it when it was on sale and im enjoying it. It does have along ways to go yet. They work on more than one game so this one doesnt seem to be in high priority at the moment so dont expect any updates at this time. Have to look at it for the now moment. How much of it is playable at this time ? Ive played through as much as i thought was the wholeness of it. Visited the planets and home again, now back to building in my base. Is a slow snails pace game to enjoy so dont go grabbing alot of caffeine expecting a fast paced shoot em up adventure. Just put it in cruise mode and enjoy the slow early game adventure for what it is at this time. It has potential when the time comes.

Well, if it's $10 or less, it's money well spent, I played over 60 hours. Replay value is limited, once you know how to get things done. Bugreport so far: Building dependencies, not really bug: When using tech levels, make sure that the more advanced tools and fabrication devices can handle the ones beneath the tech level, or fix it to one specific device. It stands to reason that an advanced fabricator can create the same stuff that a workbench can. Claim device: Should be used to indicate a no build zone, but if the dependency is that a base crumbles or gets destroyed when it fails, it should be upgradable and sit on a foundation to start with. Without the dependency it doesn't matter much since the base is not destroyed by it's absence. Stuff disappears while working on it, causing animation/action lock-up/repetition, can only be undone by exit and reloading save. Bad. Alignment of the build snap pieces. Make sure the number of pixels is odd for x,y,z to allow center lines, and with that perfect snap pieces, unlike the mess it is now, all being disturbingly non-aligned well. Yes, it's pain, but sooner or later people will start to dislike this much. Carrying capacity overload: While going over capacity, there's no limit after that that prevents motion. I can walk around with well over twice carry capacity. This should be limited. (I don't mind for now though) Fix the pause in offline mode ! Fix the pause to have a separate button, and that it always works in offline mode. Playing "One life" and dying due to game not pausing as it should, well, it kinda sucks. (ofc, it doesn't matter in online.) One key like the "Pause" key to pause, and "ESC" for leaving pause mode, with the message while paused stating "Press ESC to go back." The build and snap system, big fat overhaul required. You got things snapping the wrong way, or not at all, finicky positioning due to character movement, mandatory 180 degree rotation, instead of 90 degree, off center snapping, etc. If you ever want to make this game great, don't be 'original', stick with the build-snap standard in which other games have set the standard, like Empyrion, Space Engineer, ARK, Green Hell, Stranded Deep, Planet Nomads, Subsistence, etc. It may appear trivial, and yet it's these errors that can become really testing. The self-hosting server is more wonky than offline solo play. Tips: Don't make it overly intricate to get stuff by using nonsensical tech trees. better add another level to make it harder to get to all tech. Add a setting for this under difficulty, so you can either be forced to do all the little steps upward for harder gameplay or easier by allowing all tech from the start. For now, it's ok as a game a bit, but not great or fantastic as it can be.

With a bit more work it should be great game. Fell through the ground and lost all gear, couldn't use the pill to unstuck. Such is gaming. Later ejected from a ferry in space. Need to wait until it is updated more. Unfortunate in that I will have to start a new game as my character is floating in space.

FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE. This a pretty damn good game considering the time it has been in development and the size of the team. With literally thousands and thousands of hours in survival games I highly recommend trying this one. It is off to a good start. Sure it is a little clunky and has some rough edges. It has some bugs. They being worked on. But here is a once in a life time chance to actually influence the design of a game. What make a difference? Give this game a chance. Worst case scenario is that you'll play it a little, get some enjoyment for it, then stop because it's not as refined as you like. BUT had some fun. Maybe later you will go back to it, give it another try and really be surprised. As of this date the game is NOT dead. It takes time. On sale at $12 it is a steal. You can't even get a fast food meal for that prices and how long does that last. It's like 7DTD and Empryion Galactic had a baby. But in any case, if you love survival games, give this one a chance.
