buy on sale and enjoy the story, Ea being the evil corporation it is abandoned the game shortly after it released and truly left what could have been a gem in the dustbin of gaming history. As a star wars fan this game is worth it for the ability to fly a x wing and a tie interceptor in vr with immersive combat and a really good singe player campaign.

While clearly created by people who know what they’re doing, Star Wars Squadrons never felt like it quite got out of tech demo territory for me. It has a relatively short campaign that, while it has some decent variety, ultimately fell flat and was pretty uninspiring. Technically, the game is extremely impressive; the spacescapes look gorgeous, the ships are lovingly detailed, and the game runs excellently. Everything sounds how you want it to sound and it does the Star Wars thing. But playing both sides of the story, often with scenes that look like they’re identical save for some model and texture swaps, leads to a story that ultimately goes nowhere. Moreover, it’s pretty clear that this was geared to be game primarily played online, grinding out the ranks, and I think it was a huge misstep to prioritize this — which harkens back to the space shooters of the 90s — as a live service game. So, if you love Star Wars or have fond memories of X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Descent, and Wing Commander, you’ll probably find something to enjoy here. It’s disappointing that because of what feels like some poor business choices that this game couldn’t quite live up to its potential.

Pros: I had a lot of fun with it playing though the story since we haven't really had something like a dedicated Star-wars flight sim in a long while. While its basically the flying from Battlefront 2 with a few extra bells and whistles its far from terrible and is visually pretty good, particularly when playing in first person. Cons: Its basically abandoned now, last update of any kind was several years ago and as far as I know the multiplayer is basically dead. Which is a pity because both the B-wing and Tie-defender that they added later are ONLY in the multiplayer, making them useless unless you want to play multiplayer against bots which grows stale quickly. Overall opinion: Not absolute trash but at the point where your best off buying it cheap in a sale, playing though the story and then never really touching it again. Not a bad game and enjoyable while it lasts but lacks any staying power once you finish the story and get tried of stomping bots.

Not sure if worth full price because I didn't try it online, but got it a few hours ago with a deal and game is absolutely amazing, LOVING the single player campaign. Ignore all the comments saying about the EA account blah blah, game works perfectly, and if you have a flight stick like a HOTAS then it's literally Star Wars heaven. Any fan of Star Wars, Ace Combat (or similar) should play this, so much fun.
