This game is a great way to relive the original so if you played it back then, you'll enjoy this nostalgia trip. If you didn't experience this game back then I wouldn't recommend this- you'll find it clunky, simple, and overall dated. The game also has core issues that can't really be fixed without changing the game: like getting secondary bounties which disrupts the flow of the game or the infinitely respawning enemies. The game also doesn't have great enemy AI, along with almost no enemy variation so its only trick is sending large groups of enemies which was fine back then but doesn't hold up well with todays standards. There aren't that many weapons, with grenades being basically useless and the flamethrower fun but unwieldy since you need to be up close......to a guy shooting at you. It's just easier to use the pistols which are snappy, satisfying and have infinite ammo. As far as length this also isn't very long- I'm 9 hours in at time of this review and have beaten 4/6 chapters, but will go back to 100% the game to see all the extras the game has. While this game has all these minor issues I still had fun coming back to it after 20 something years-I just can't see this game bringing that kind of enjoyment to someone picking it up for the first time today. It's a relic of its time and sure, maybe its a hidden gem from the gamecube/ps2 era, but I know that after I beat this I will uninstall and probably never play again. I played with mouse and keyboard to see how it felt and it played fine! Can still play with controller if you want. I will say that if you are curious you can get through the first chapter within 2 hours and the game doesn't evolve beyond that- its gonna be that for the rest of the game. You'll know if you want more or if a refund is the right move.

From someone who's officially completed this game 100% and had the original game as a kid, this game is honestly worth it. It has it's flaws sure, but that's coming from a super old game for an old generation of consoles years ago. This game still gives an amazing Jango Fett experience, and has you feeling like a bounty hunter as you gun enemies down. Even in case someone doesn't have a controller, the mouse and keyboard controllers are still good alternatives and a pretty smooth way to gun enemies down with precision. Please, pick this one up, because you're missing out on an underrated Star Wars game from an era!

This is exactly the treatment this game deserved. Unlike the BFC, this new version of Bounty Hunter actually comes with significant improvements in both visuals and QOL changes. This is one of my earliest experiences with the Star Wars IP way back in the day, so this game holds a very special in my heart. I am glad to report that Aspyr managed to deliver a very good product. Its clear to me that Aspyr only thrive through Single Player experiences and though I will not excuse what happened to the BFC, in the case of Bounty Hunter, they've done a marvelous job at bringing the game back on new platforms. My biggest hope is that they will bring the Rogue Squadron trilogy and the Revenge of The Sith video games to modern platforms with the same treatment (Rogue Squadron 2&3 still look amazing) Bounty Hunter plays great, runs great and has a story that I wish Disney did not put aside. I haven't come across any performance issues at all. One of the benefits of this port is not only the visual improvments but also mechanic changes and content additions. The scanner mechanic in the original was a pain due to the fact the game ran at normal speed which made identifying bounties exceedingly difficult to the point of frustration and not in a good way. Thankfully, the remaster has fixed that issue by slowing down time, meaning you can spot targets with no issues. As for content, once you beat the game you can unlock a Boba Fett skin which was an old myth of the original 2002 release that has finally been realised. I am beyond thankful that Aspyr were given the time to bring bounty hunter to a new generation and while I disagree with the modern control scheme since it can break how the game was intended to play hence why I play with legacy controls, its nice to see this game return and in the best manner possible. I highly recommend picking it up.

I may get on some people nerves, but I was always a bit of a rebel, so here goes. New remaster of Bounty Hunter is a solid option. Not perfect, but acting like Aspyr somehow did a lazy job, where vast majority of textures were reworked, lighting improved, material systems introduced etc. is just straight up ignorance. First of - Bounty Hunter was never available for PC - it was a Playstation 2 / GameCube game. That's already quite a bit of effort put - introducing DirectX 12 rendering (not exactly sure why, considering that DX11 would be more than enough for the game and it is way problematic of an API), widescreen support and keyboard and mouse support that feels natural to play is something that takes many weeks of work - and having played the game this way, I can fully say that Aspyr succeeded. There is even a new, more modern control scheme for a gamepad! With that said - there are some glaring issues - biggest being the lack of rebindable keys. It's not the end of the world - the default bindings are reasonable and they handle different keyboard layouts correctly, so that the poor AZERTY users or DVORAK hipsters can still play the game properly. Other big issue is that the widescreen support in cutscenes is not quite correct, as the in-game cutscenes are overly cropped now with letterboxes and seem stretched. There is also a bug that happens in one of the levels where Zam will block you (although not fully) in one of the levels. Other than that, all of the other issues are carried from the base game - like the fact that the game doesn't do much on the gameplay level to spice things up, which results in the game getting boring around 50% through. Level design, life system and checkpoints all remain the same - so the game gets really hard towards the end, with some really bullshit level design - but again, that's just how it has always been and it's not a fault of Aspyr. Bounty Hunting is also tedious, as you need to constituently switch between helmet view and weapons to find bounty hunting targets and tag them before you can capture them. Overall however, Aspyr did a decent job porting the game to PC platform and it's great to see the game being easily accessible, instead of being stuck in abandonware hole it was in. This is way closer their remasters of Tomb Raider 1-3, than the disaster that Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was and if you factor in a significantly lower price than what Nightdive charges for their recent remasters, you get a pretty good deal.
