Sept. 2024

After completing Starcom: Unknown Space, I was looking for another similar title. After viewing Splattercat's YT review, I decided to grab this and so far it's pretty fun. Seems polished and is a sandbox with missions and upgrades galore. Could use some persistent tooltips, but there is a fairly decent tutorial popup that helps when you encounter something new.

Very enjoyable, extremely replayable, with a wide range of achievements and their associated ingame perks to keep you hunting! Play as a trader, miner, explorer, fighter - pirate, rebel, or oppressive alien overlord! Anything is possible, and each different style of play is good for at least twenty hours or so of content. Some aspects are unavoidable (for example, mining is an incredibly lucrative and relatively safe way to make money early on) but once you're past the early game and find your footing, the galaxy isn't big enough to hold you! Also, being an oppressive alien overlord flying in a tiny faction-kitted ship and tearing apart much larger vessels was a friggin *riot*. 10/10 will do again... just as soon as I finish getting the Perks associated with being besties with those poor oppressed humans and their huge battleships!

fantastic game. Keeps me wanting more. Very simple, but can be as in depth as you want it to be. Only problem is it seems like development is done for now. There is still plenty of content for what is available right now.

Absolutely enjoyable game that lets you play the way you like. It doesn't feel too grindy and has plenty of moments that make you sit up straighter in your seat. Well done to the developer and I cannot wait to see where he takes this gem.

Fun little space game that runs on a toaster, but comes packed with plenty to do. Surprisingly deep mechanics in the customization of your ship and fleet. It reminds me a bit of Drox Operative, but where Drox was more action-oriented, this feels slower-paced and more like Freelancer. If you're going to purchase the game outside of Steam, don't use DIG. It's available on Humble Bundle. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/star-valor?hmb_source=search_bar (DIG basically robbed the guy who made this little gem, and sold his game for pennies without his permission. Hence the sudden review bombing from pissed off "customers" who lost their illegitimate keys.)
