Game Review: Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now [quote=Wendrex] Developer: Dreamworlds Platform: PC (Steam) Game Introduction "Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now" is an action and survival game with a zombie apocalypse theme, where the player finds himself immersed in a world devastated by an infestation of the undead. The game stands out for its vibrant visual style and fluid combat mechanics, as well as a dark humor that mixes frenetic action with moments of relaxation. Developed by Dreamworlds, "Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now" offers an immersive experience for those looking for fun and challenges in a post-apocalyptic setting, with quality graphics and satisfying combat mechanics. Let's explore in detail what makes this title a unique experience and recommended for fans of action and zombie games. Graphics and Visual Style The graphics in Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now are one of the game's greatest strengths. The aesthetic is vibrant, with a cartoonish color palette that contrasts with the dark zombie theme. The choice of colors and character designs, including the undead, is one of the most creative we've seen in games of this genre. The art style is reminiscent of comics, with sharp outlines and a sense of animation that helps to soften the game's violence, keeping it fun and light, even in intense combat scenes. The scenarios are detailed, with environments rich in destruction and chaos, but always with an exaggerated touch of exaggeration, typical of zombie-themed action games. This creates a unique atmosphere that mixes elements of dark humor with apocalyptic horror, without falling into the excessive exaggeration that could detract from the proposal. Gameplay and Mechanics "Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now" is a top-down action combat game, with an isometric view, which provides a great view of the battlefield. The gameplay is fast and dynamic, with intuitive controls, allowing the player to move fluidly and fight hordes of zombies in a variety of ways. The combat mechanics are diverse, with the player being able to use a wide range of weapons, such as pistols, shotguns, machetes and even improvised objects found in the environment. Each weapon has its own style and function, which gives the game a layer of strategy. The variety of enemies, from common zombies to more grotesque and challenging creatures, keeps the experience fresh and exciting. In addition, the game has character improvement and customization mechanics, which allow players to adapt their skills and weapons to suit their play style, which increases the replayability and depth of the title. Storyline and Narrative The storyline of Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now is simple but effective. In a world devastated by a zombie apocalypse, you take on the role of a survivor who must face the hordes of undead to survive and, possibly, find a cure for the infection that has decimated humanity. The narrative is filled with sarcastic dialogues and captivating characters, which add a touch of humor to the chaos. This creates an engaging experience, where the tension of the fight for survival mixes with comedic moments that help to alleviate the weight of the apocalyptic drama. The game does not seek to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the story, but its charm lies in the execution of the plot and the way it fits perfectly with the frenetic gameplay and visual style. The story is full of twists and surprises, which keep the player interested and curious about what will happen next. Soundtrack and Audio The soundtrack of Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now perfectly complements the style of the game. The music is intense during combat, creating a sense of urgency and adrenaline, but there are also lighter and more comical moments, which help to break the tension of the apocalypse. The sound effects, such as the screams of the zombies and the sound of weapons firing, are well done and immersive. The dialogues are another important part of the experience. With a well-chosen voice cast and fun performances, the game manages to convey its light and irreverent atmosphere, which contributes to its unique vibe. Challenges and Replayability Despite being accessible, Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now is still challenging. The hordes of zombies, with their diversity of types and behaviors, require the player to use strategies to win. The difficulty increases as the game progresses, with new types of enemies and situations that require agility and precision. The gameplay offers a good amount of challenges and modes to increase replayability. Each game can be a different experience, depending on the weapons chosen, the play style adopted and the enemies faced. In addition, the game has secondary missions, improvements and unlockables that encourage the player to continue playing to complete everything the title has to offer. Final Considerations "Splatter - Zombie "calypse Now" is a fun zombie action game with well-developed combat mechanics, vibrant graphics, and a plot that mixes humor and tension in a captivating way. Dreamworlds has managed to create a title that stands out in the genre with a light and accessible approach, but without giving up a satisfying challenge for more experienced players. If you are a fan of frantic action and zombies, this is a title worth checking out. The mix of humor, strategy, and zombie chaos makes for a unique and memorable experience. Final Score: 8.5/10 I recommend Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now for anyone looking for an intense action game, but with a touch of humor and a well-crafted visual aesthetic. It is a game that offers the perfect balance between fun and challenge, being a great choice for any fan of zombie apocalypse games.

Fine game , I like how it merges top down with Zombies. Gets a little repetitive after a while and sound design could use some work.

SHORT REVIEW : a simple top-down action shooter with a lot of zombies and blood, nice graphics, a cheap story and quite a cheap price. Classic mechanics of its genre, wort few hours of carefree fun, better if on sale. > Gameplay ( 6.5 / 10 ) : shooting to everything moves in the dark. Mechanics are very simple and revolve around using the mouse to point and shoot and the keyboard for movement while cleaning each level by killing every zombie and finding some rare collectables. The game has a few variety of weapons and can game can be fun at the beginning, but boring after few hours. > Story ( 5.0 / 10 ) : it's the basic same plot you can find in every zombie apolaypse setting. Story is quite boring and it's just a weak attempt to give game a reason to be. > Aesthetics ( 7.0 / 10 ) : game looks really good. Locations and effects are nice and it's cool that many objects in the game can be destroyed with nice animations. Weather and lighting are a bit poor compared to game assets, but generally the aesthetic is quite enjoyable. > Audio ( 6.6 / 10 ) : sound effects and music are good and contribute to a good immersion. However it would have been better with more diversity. > Difficulty ( 6.0 / 10 ) : game doesn't offer much challenge, but in some cases you will need more than few attempts to complete a level. > Overall Rating ( 6.2 / 10 ) <

i really don't care for top down games but i love Zombie games so i decided to give the game a try and i wasn't disappointed. My only peeve was that for such a cool game it was just way too short. A few more levels with bosses would have been nice.

I got the game on sale and didn't play it until I beat other games I had in my Steam collection. I did have fun playing the game and did beat it so here's my review of this game. The game is pretty much a guy who gets into a zombie apocalypse and has to fight zombies, monsters, and robots to reach the end to find the source of the zombie apocalypse. The game gets you guns like the pistol, shotgun, rifle, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, laser rifle, and flamethrower from what I remember. You fight enemies like zombies ranging from small to big, giant frogs, giant enemies that are the same ones you see but are larger, robots, and enemies that shoot flames at you. There are levels where you can do side tasks that can get you collectibles which I got on my first playthrough because I used a guide to get the Golden Gun and flak jacket collectibles. You can get money to use to upgrade your weapons which helped me out a lot in the game. When you die you start from the last place the game saved. Some bosses can be easy or hard depending on how you go against them. For bosses in the game, I never killed them because I played a lot of games so I have experience. You can shoot explosives that can damage enemies. When I'm shooting my explosives the explosive weapons I use never damage me so It helps me out sometimes but when the weapon is in a cooldown before I can fire it again I die so I have to start at that part again from the last save point. There are some missions where you go into a turret section where you defend police officers defending themselves from the zombies and you get rewarded with money. For money, it goes from bronze to gold. Bronze is 5, Silver is 20, and Gold is 50. You can pick up ammo from looking around the area around you so there's that. There is survival mode but I never did it because it's a way to show people how good you are on the leaderboard. The gameplay for this game reminds me of one of those flash games on the internet where you play in a top-down view fighting and surviving against zombies. After beating the game I recommend people to try this game out when it's on sale. For me, I got this game when it was on sale for under 2 euro so it's worth getting when you have no other game to try out. You can beat this game in under 4 hours so it's a game worth getting since it is an indie game. I give this game a 7 out of 10. Thanks for reading my review I hope it makes you think twice about getting this game. Have a good day.
