Superb take on the platformer roguelike genre—a bit like Spelunky on LSD, with a delightful retro vibe. The art and atmosphere are outstanding, perfectly in line with the other gems from Caisy's universes, and the game mechanics are exhilarating. I love all the games from this developer, who has an impressive knack for all things roguelike, and I can't wait to get my hands on the released version of Deadzoned.

v good, wish this was caiys' best performing game so we could get a beefier sequel that adds to the craziness. More passives and bosses especially. but for the amount of content this game has it is easily worth the price. I enjoy it more than Spelunky. solid 8/10 minimum and I love the art style like always.

A very good and fun game. Has several game modes. Three of them are very similar but the length of the runs is different. There's a card battling mode, a challenges mode, an arena survival mode, and a few more. There are I think 8-9 different classes with their own main weapons and special items. The main game modes are, as I said, very similar - You have a specific number of stages with a number of different kinds of stages, for example in the first stage you can get a forest level, a snow level, a mine-esque level, and every one of them has unique enemies(mostly. Something that is included in this game is explosions, which can destroy the environment, in which there are coins and gems that can be used by merchants to buy new items. After you finish a stage you get to pick a single(or two with a special item) new passive or active item for the next stages, you can also get a special passive item that is unique to the class you are playing. And at the end of the run waits a boss for you to defeat. This is a real hidden gem of a game, and deserves more success.

This game rules. I bought it on release date, played it a bunch, revisit it occasionally when I haven't with the Spelunky games. I'm nowhere near finished with it either, in fact I think I'm still trying to see the true ending with the first character class. The dev quickly implemented some feedback I had about gamepad support in a prior game that I also loved without needing to have it justified or a weird argument about it, so I've been a dedicated supporter ever since. The dev clearly loves their work and supporters, is extremely active with a whole bunch of other games under their belt that are also super good, affordable and if you're a fan of this type of game, very worthy of your attention. Those games appear to largely share codebases with each other, so improvements implemented for one game almost always trickle down into the others. Most other games in my library get maybe one or two patches after release while the caiysware games get a constant flow of patches and occasionally new content to pull you back in. This game was released in 2020 and got a patch yesterday and also the day before that, in 2024, and just before that sometime in December. That's insane.
