Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is not so much a game but a focus tool. This is an especially useful application if you find yourself distracted while studying or doing remote work. The artwork is cozy as are the lofi beats, the latter of which the game has plenty of. The different spirits are cute and endearing as are the descriptions. Your enjoyment of this will likely boil down to if you are looking for a productivity tool or not. If not, probably give this a pass. To me, SCLS is a lovely combination of Kind Words and Habitica wrapped up in a duvet. There will be many more cozy lofi sessions in my near future.

It's... fine. If you can get it half-off, then it's a good deal. The content is very light. You'll find all the little pets super quick, get bored with the clothes/decor super quick. But it's the lofi beats to relax/study to that you're interest in right? Well you've got 4 playlists, each with a few hours of music. Like the other content, you'll burn through this quick. So it's nice that they offer an in-game YouTube browser (no you can't use it to flip to Spotify, I've tried) so you have access to unlimited lofi beats to relax/study to. Nice, right? Well because it's an in-app (I can't really call this a game) browser, your ad-blocker isn't there. So you've now got access to loads of lofi beats to relax/study to, but you're gonna get hit with a disrupting ads. So that sucks. Ultimately I got this for the white-noise options, and I hope they add more. I prefer focusing to <rain sounds> or <fireplace> than music anyway, and they've got a nice mixer so you can create the sound scene you want. So that's a plus. If by some wild chance the developers actually read these reviews, there are some things that would really elevate the app for me: [*] Open up the browser. Let us explore beyond YouTube. Let us go wherever we want. Right now the feature just sort of feels like an advertising vehicle for your own YouTube channel. [*] More white-noise sounds! Also you need an 'all sounds off' button. [*] Random personal question prompt option for journal entries. I think it would be interesting to get a new personal question every day to think about. Right now it's just a glorified notepad, really. [*] Let us export all our written content. I'm sure some folks would hate to lose what they've built up in the app, and it would let us backup what we've written, too. So yeah, it's... fine. Wait for a deep sale if you're not fully convinced.

I'm an auDHD mess that works from home and has been searching for a productivity helper for years. Spirit City appeared and it just _fit_. The game is beautiful, the spirit companions adorable, and the productivity features are helpful. Genuinely, this game has done wonders for my productivity on my off days and manages to help keep my executive dysfunction in check enough to get things done. AND it's a dress up game. Gameifying productivity WHILE giving me a lofi-bean to dress up and spirit creatures to pet? Worth it. Additionally, the team behind the game is kind, responsive. and has created a very welcoming community. If you're on the fence, please come over. It's wonderful here. Pros: Dressup! Scenery! SPIRIT FRIENDS! pomodoro timer, habit tracker, to-do list are all very functional and the music is provided by homework radio, a much beloved by me lofi channel this could be betters (because they arent really cons) : the web music browser isn't very solid, honestly, and you can't use YouTube live streams (or get back to the place where you select your website). there's no integration for calendars (yet?).

Cute, lovely game which is a medicine to the soul I bought this game on the launch week and I absolutely love it. I use it every day since the purchase, it helps me to be more productive and to relax. It's a perfect relaxing idle game --the best, in my opinion-- to play in the background while working on something. About achievements : ~ completion time: around 300+ hours (with future updates it will be less) ~ difficulty: easy -> complete tutorial, pet/ unlock spirits + spend time in the game Pros : - you can decorate your room and personalize your character - huge variety of customization items - ingame habit tracker and calendar - to-do list so you won’t forget about the important tasks - journal where you can write your own thoughts - timer for working which includes break timer - amazing and chill soundtracks which were provided by Homework Radio - web music browser - you can listen rainy/ windy / bird sounds (etc) depending on your mood - as you level you unlock more spirits who will accompany you in your journey - constant updates and bugfixes - you can hide the UI - YOU CAN PET THE SPIRITS Cons : - N O T H I N G , the game does what it promises, it is perfect as it is, and more future content will be added soon The game was made by small development team (designer, artist, sound designer) and you can tell that they put their whole hearts into it. They are also quick with fixing bugs.
