As of 1.1: It lacks the depth or time one could spend in similar games such as Vampire Survivors, but makes up for it by giving you access to some wacky combinations and rewards your creativity. Whereas other games tend to pull back out of fear of you becoming overpowered, Spell Disk just kinda upnods and goes "Yeah, you'll have that." Could use a lot of tweaking, but that's to be expected from a game that just kind of lets you loose to do the wackiest junk. As updates come out and tweaks adjust the game play, I'd say this is a hidden gem that will only get better over time.

The core experience is somewhat similar to something like Noita or Path of Exile where you cast spells that activate other spells that activate other spells etc. etc. While reviews say that the game is relatively simple mechanically, I disagree. Often, your spell cast loops will depend on you either by attacking with your weapon light combo, heavy combo, dodging, or by casting your main spell. Your weapon combo's length and weapon damage depends on the given weapon, which can alter how your build develops over the course of a run. The game offers a surprising variety of spells, items, and "disks" (items that activate your spells when certain conditions are met, i.e. dealing a certain type of damage or walking a certain distance) that allow for a great amount of replayability. Meta-progression is present, but not necessary for completing a run; skill, knowledge, and, of course, luck, could very much carry you to your first win with little to no meta-progression. If you enjoy survivor-like "bullet heavens" but are looking for something with a bit more structure, I would highly recommend this.

This game deserves a lot more attention. It feels very polished and it isn't afraid to let your builds get crazy overpowered while still being a challenge.

Best Rogue Lite I've ever played. More Mechanical Variety than League I played for like 20 hours and then realized that because the enemies don't take touch damage, if you have an RP build you can literally just cuddle a single enemy and avoid its telegraphs (OF ABUSE </3 ) until you get bored and murder your ROCK WORM BOYFRIEND NAMED GERHAS to go clear the next floor. This took like 10 whole minutes, and I loved every second of my relationship. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. THIS IS A MECHANIC IF YOU WANT. 100/100

Spell Disk is a very fun game The whole point is to make your character a living firework thanks to disks that activate linked spells with conditions (it reminds path of exil on this point, except you get all the auto cast you can hope for) I love the system. The game is still a bit janky but very cool, there's a lot of thing to try, lot of spells, possible builds, artifacts ; multiple gamemode (roguelite, survivor and gamemodes post roguelite run) There's also starter stuff (hats&dresses) that can heavily affect the gameplay of each run Lot of diversity and magical explosions, very satisfying. It's a bit of a powertrip tho. The game isn't free either, mobs attack for real and get better stats as difficulty goes up (you will learn to fear the rain of feather... and the spores) But the fact is that your little sorceress becomes a walking cataclysm even for bosses (it's good and bad) I'd like the game to be a bit harder. And an option to go up faster in difficulties. But as I already played a lot, i'm not sure how revelant it is. You can also make your own challenges. I had fun playing with limitations, like no buying (felt more like a classic roguelite), no spells (surprisingly nice, but unsurprisingly hard), no more slots... It's not the best roguelite you ever played. But it's a unique and very fun one. And the 1.0 is coming soon when i'm writing this
