So, it took some time, but i'm hooked. I came to the realization that i dont need graphics i need results and results of my actions. I need symbolic representation of myself doing things that have an effect on the world at large, perhaps because my own life seems to have so little impact. But thats the point of RPG right? In real life you make mistakes and that mistake carries with you for life, but in this simulation you make a mistake and you start fresh everytime. Your past self does not carry the mistakes with you. You die, you learn, you die again, but you live longer. This is the real fantasy, not the dragons, not the wizards and magic. The chance to live, make mistakes, start from nothing and come out stronger with the will to do better next time. As we age in real life, that will to do better next time is tempered with knowledge that the ability to change our world is born from naivete. This game gives us all the chance to do better next time, no matter how many times it takes, maybe even change the world. Also, I've been drinking.

Bought on principal because of the developer's moral acumen; staying because it's fun! Kind of a mashup of Dwarf Fortress, Crusader Kings, and an old-school RPG. Definitely worth checking out, it is being updated and I imagine it will only get better.

I've always chased the feeling that runescape gave me as a kid, and this is the first game that's delivered. Quite honestly one of the best games I've played in a very long time. The game offers a vast randomly generated world that continues to grow and revolve with or without you, a huge variety of skills and a huge range of abilities within those skills. Almost infinte possiblities and amazing fun. 68 hours in as I'm writing this review and I'm not even slightly bored, and just excited to play more. Developer is a lovely hardworking guy and is very involved in the community. Since buying the game I've seen weekly updates and complete transparency about development. Would 100% recommend to people who like the idea of a vast open world where you can play as your own completely unique character, adventure, create a lineage, create a unique build, get unique items, create and manage settlements if you want to. Great game.

3 hours in and I absolutely love this game. Its a game I always wanted. Maybe down the road we could have characters instead of pictures of the character. Regardless, this game is epic. 10/10 highly recommend getting this game. This is how early access is meant to be. There's a lot of depth to this game and I look forward to many many hours in this game!
