A Magical, Moving, Musical Adventure! Pros: Charming and simple story Phenominal musical sequences Beautiful 2D pixel art Cons: A bit predictable at times Lack of keybinding changes Sometimes easy to get lost Have you ever felt lost or alone in a world that just seems too big for you? Or maybe you never got to meet your real parents, and you mope about wishing you could go out and find them? Meet Birb, the amazing little bird who doesn't know who they are or who his parents were. Raised by a peacock, he notices that all of the other peacocks always stare and laugh at him. In order to understand himself more, he embarks on a long journey to discover what kind of bird he is and what happened to his parents. This game is simply amazing. One of the most magical, awe inspiring indie games I've ever played. It's a simple little puzzle platformer with rhythm game mechanics, and it has some of the best music tracks I've heard in a while. It plays out almost like you're in a musical at times, with the songs all telling a story within Birb's adventure. It's a truly unique experience without anything to make comparisons to. There were plenty of times throughout the journey where I really felt the heart and soul of the developers shine through. The game isn't too long, but it's well worth your time. Songbird Symphony is a magical tale with a never-before-seen genre combination, and it works flawlessly. If you love stories with heart, quirky humor, or even just the sound of a musical adventure, this is for you. Expect to finish the game in about 5 hours, and even though that's not a long time, it's well worth every penny. This might be one of the best games I've played this year.

guys come on, its not even 1 euro right now. you are legally obliged to buy this game and play it. + a very good story both in content and size + cute graphics and animations that are almost always on beat and satisfying + the level design is great. you can trigger events that add new elements to the zones main theme + the music per se is really catchy. there a many recurring themes which are assigned to specific zones or characters + easy to get 100% achievements if you care about that + you cant lose the music battles - the biggest downside has to be the music "battles". many people complain about not being able to reassign the controls, but my biggest complaint has to be the really bad visual clarity. there are so many particles flying around, the placement of the timing indicator distracts badly and is also placed unfortunately and above all the position and pattern of your note indicators change constantly. all these weaknesses make the music battles far harder than they have to be, it really is a game for children after all. Aside from the music battle inconviences I really enjoyed this game. If you can get into a cozy disney movie-like story and atmosphere, with catchy songs, cool level design and overall cute graphics and animations, this game was made for you plus it costs less than a snickers bar right now lol

For 74 cents its good, but there's some things that are simply unacceptable. Mainly the fact YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR CONTROLS. at least not on keyboard. not sure about controller but in game there is no way to change your controls. that is a major con but the games good atleast. nice art , decent lore and okay gameplay. wouldnt say its a metroidvania at all, more like a platformer if anything. Overall, decent game.

Songbird Symphony is a simple but heartwarming game about identity, home, and family. It has a 16 bit graphical aesthetic and a musical theater mindset, most obviously visible in that its conflicts are resolved via rhythm gameplay, spaced out by minor exploration and puzzle solving. The rhythm gameplay is graded, but I don't think it's possible to "lose," and the puzzles are fairly straightforward and not all required -- pretty much everyone should be able to finish this game, but if you love it you can go back and be a completionist. I'm not sure it's for everyone, but if keywords like "heartwarming," "musical theater," and "rhythm game" are attractive to you, you'll love Songbird Symphony.

One of my favorite games. The only rhythm platformer I can think of. Definitely worth the price. It starts out silly and whimsical and then hits you with a masterpiece of emotion. EDIT: I just read three negative reviews that start with something like "I really want to like this game but" and then they go on to say the rhythm sections are too hard, and I want to make a rebuttal. I got an S on every song so it's definitely doable, you just gotta like the songs enough to want to practice them a lot, like with any rhythm game. It's true that the difficulty curve is pretty steep, starting off stupidly easy and ramping up to practically impossible. I actually had my wife play this game because I thought it was going to be super easy based on the demo, and she quickly found that she couldn't handle it. Most rhythm games have multiple difficulty levels for each song and this game just has one, but that works for the style of the game. It's kind of like Tchia in that you're not supposed to worry about the rhythm sections. And that's why it doesn't make sense to complain about it being too hard. You can pass with any score. There isn't even a score-related achievement (which is too bad for me because I aced everything, but it's okay to go in knowing you're doing it for its own sake)
