I really loved playing through this game but the only negative things I can think about is that the game is too short. I've played it in one sitting (about 4 hours to finish the entire game) and I wish it could have lasted at least a couple of days worth of gameplay alsoI love how Willump can do glory kills to get health back, just like the Doom Slayer.

This is an absolute beautiful game to experience and play. The colors and music just draw you in. The relationship with Willump and Nunu is adorable. I recommend this game to anyone young and/or old. I am a 70 year old woman who has been playing video games for close to 50 years and this game rates among the very top. I was sad that it ended. It was almost like when you finish watching a great series and you are almost part of the movie or equate this to a good novel that you wish would never end.

where do i even begin? this game was SO COOL (pun intended)! i have been waiting for this game ever since it was announced, nunu and willump are my favorites... despite not playing league of legends itself, i'm happy i got to experience their story. ^^ anyway, onto reviewing it... it definitely is a quick game, someone could probably finish this within a day, i finished it for ten hours in the span of two days. so you might wanna think whether you want to buy it on full price or on sale based on the time you wanna get from the game, but there are achievements that may be missing so there's that to consider (depending on if you wanna collect it). the gameplay was simple, easy to understand and a casual gamer can easily get the hang of it (especially since the controls are slowly revealed to you and not just shoved into your face immediately). the puzzles were fun (in my opinion) and i didn't need to look up tutorials for any of it! there are some that you might get stumped at... but there just might be a third secret solution you haven't thought about...! ;) as much as i would love to talk about the art style and animation, i fear i had to run it on low graphics because of my laptop, however, it really suited the game and its story, befitting for the characters of nunu and willump. now, the soundtrack... definitely is one of the best parts of the game, i might be a little biased since i love fantasy music (and flutes). ever since i first heard nunu and willump's theme from league of legends, i've wanted to hear even more! and this game absolutely did not disappoint, i smile everytime i recognize their theme from the main game. :) also, i cried, like, twice! it was a bunch of little tears here and there, but it really warms your heart at the end. i also really LOVE the song choice for the ending, put a smile on my face immediately and sang the lyrics word for word. this game... I LOVE IT!! i wouldn't go as far as to say it's perfect, but it is in my heart! man, this is more of a rant than a review... but if reviews are meant to let you know what the product is like, this one works, either way... i had fun with the game! :D here's to hoping for a sequel!! i have a flute, which makes this even more fun. anyway, if you're even the slightest bit interested in the game... try it! if you do get it but don't like it... you can always refund, in fact, within the timeframe you can refund- i'm sure the game can be completed as long as you speedrun it. XD and that's all, i hope we see more of nunu and willump's adventures. :]

I have enjoyed almost everything released by Tequila Works and was not let down by Song of Nunu. It has similar themes to RIME and GYLT.. a child who has suffered a loss embarks on a journey into a spirit-filled world to find answers. This game is more 'cartoonish' than RIME, with more animated cut scenes. Nunu is a small boy who is searching for his mother's spirit and a "Heart of Blue" magical item. He is accompanied by Willump - a blue comical Yeti with four arms (who knew... I assumed that Yetis were two-armed creatures!). Song of Nunu is best played with a controller. You are armed with snowballs to throw and a flute to play. I found the musical sections too hard to coordinate with the keyboard/mouse. You control Nunu directly and, at times, Willump (when he carries Nunu). The two work together to solve problems and overcome obstacles. The path is fairly linear and there is no time spent wandering, wondering what to do next. There are different areas/chapters to explore with some sub-quests that lead you to the main quest. No fluffy errands to run and almost no inventory to manage.... just a complicated landscape to navigate with many obstacles. The puzzle elements focus on how to use the environment and your powers to move along. The art is beautiful and the soundtrack is fantastic. The voice-overs are professionally done and fit the characters quite well. Although there is a good bit of platforming, it does not require precision and I missed very few jumps (which is unusual for me). Some sequences involve figuring out the timing of your actions and then executing your plan, with perfection. These situations usually took me a few tries to get things right. The combat was tough for me. Although this is not the focus of the game, there were enough assaults by wolves and magic creature to keep me on my toes. There is a boss fight at the end that, for me, was brutal. Achievements are fair. Once you have finished the game, you can return to individual chapters to find missed collectibles or complete unfinished tasks. This makes up for the single auto-save slot that does not allow you to go backwards while playing the first time through. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy a heart-warming adventure and don't mind working out puzzle timing and engaging with enemies. It is a wonderful adventure but a bit tough if your reflexes aren't quick and you aren't comfortable with attacking/evading under pressure.
