Sentinel Girls 2: Snezhinka is a marvelous sequel that iterates over the prequel and improves it in pretty much every single way. Story wise we follow Marfusha's little sister, Snezhinka. Set after the true ending of the previous game (thus I recommend playing the prequel first), Snezhinka gets increasingly worried seeing Marfusha return home with more and more injuries, until one day she straight-up does not return home. Wanting to help her big sis, Snezhinka decides to join a PMC called Blue Peacock Co. and start getting into the fight. Gameplay wise it's very similar to the previous title: a wave defense reminiscent of old flash games where you defend the objective every day whilst getting money in order to get stronger. It keeps the RNG card system for upgrades where you can randomly get weapons, consumables, support weapons, stat boosters and companions. New to this game are the support weapons; previously they were straight up consumables but now they are powerful weapons that go on cooldown after being used. This cooldown is a new stat too which means you can cut down the time it takes to use them again. Another revolutionary addition is being able to ADS in order to reduce bullet spread, so this stat is now gone. Bullet velocity is also gone, and now depends on the weapon in question. There's also a way bigger weapon selection, and imo pretty much every one of them is useful. Hell, there are replacements for the base pistol and those can allow you to sometimes go a few waves without one, saving some money. This time around there is a bit more interaction between companions. It still follows the system where some set days you will get a new event, but I found the characters this time around even more charming. I dunno, they all have fun personalities and I liked all of them. I also liked all of their endings, and considering you only get a few moments to learn about them, I think it was handled just fine. Hector was my favorite girl but the best ending imo goes to Dezik. This time around there are 2 routes to follow: the normal one where you go to East city and recapture the place where Marfusha was forced back in the previous game, and the North city route, where you go and try to find what happened to Marfusha. The North city route can only be gotten by achieving a perfect clear during your trial period (the first 30 days), which is quite hard in the Hard difficulty (did I mention there are 3 difficulties to choose from? because there are). I imagine this is the canon route and boy does it make me want a sequel right now. All in all this is a straight-up upgrade from the previous title and I loved every second of it. The story has left me intrigued so I cannot wait for what the dev team does next. PS: screw taxes!

leaving a thumbs up to be supportive. gameplay is fun. shoot everything, upgrade weapon loadouts, unlock support characters, repeat. however- reading lots of text during the breaks without any music makes the game feel unfinished. definitely could use some simple ambient music for those parts.

This game is analogous to Girls Frontline in every best way possible: theme, story flow, art, girls with guns. 10/10 worthy sequel to Marfusa. The game is so good but it makes me so sad...

This is just a straight up upgrade to the last title with a little bit more story and a couple new weapons. I like it quite a lot for it's simplicity and replayability, but I swear to god if we don't get a third title with a happy ending for the sisters, I will burn this place down.

Everything you expect from a sequel. The original Marfusha is a very simple twin-stick side scrolling shooter. There wasn't much depth, but what it did, it did well. Snezhinka is more of the same but better. Marfusha was short with a single campaign without too much variety other than weapons and different enemy types. While Snezhinka does not drastically expand on this, it adds enough new elements from weapons, to environments and upgrade cards to vary up the experience as well as additional scenes when replaying the campaign. Easy purchase if you want a simple no thrills side scrolling shooter or if you liked the original.
