I know what you're thinking - but don't worry. This game has a fair amount of content to justify the price. It's got a bunch of fun characters and some enjoyable mini games as well. If it looks like you'll enjoy Snacko, you should probably buy it. Especially if it goes on sale.

To start off, I love Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Story of Seasons, Sims, etc. And this game literally checks off every single one of the boxes that draws me into these types of games. · Decorating in the game is so fun and detailed. It has easy, grid-snapping for those who might want to quickly place things down in an organized manner. As well, it has the ability to free-place items onto anything or on any pixels that they like (it's like bb.moveobjects in sims but built-in the entire decorating system) · There is an entire town, house, and farm that you can build and restore however you like! In addition, there are townhouses in the game that allow you to build even more customized buildings (beyond the npcs) to your liking. · The entire farming aspect is very similar to other farming games, and there are very cute animals that you can take care of on your farm. · There is a museum called the "Cultural Centre" that allows for collectors and completionists to thrive in, as some of the exhibits are super cute and unique. · The characters are super cute and memorable, and they all have unique dialogues that pertain to their own personalities. For og Animal Crossing players, there are even a couple of mean NPCs that kind of hurt your feelings. But it's great! · For all the speedrunners who love speedrunning, there is literally an entire dedicated area in the game that will probably make you lose your mind with how (basically) unachievable some of these time stamps are...(thanks recursive...) · The art and music in this game is beautiful and very relaxing - I find myself humming the spring music alot. · The gameplay and camera runs really smoothly and controls are very easy to navigate. There are additional themes that can change the colouring of the game to suit your playstyle. You can even use a controller with no issues! Overall, there are some bugs, but the game is so fun and relaxing that it has definitely become one of my favourites. Snacko is definitely a worth it game, and I would recommend it to all the casual, cozy gamers out there!

I've played this game literally non-stop as much as I could for almost 3 days now and I have to say this is without a doubt my dream game. After chasing the high that harvest moon brought me for more than a decade I've found a game that gives me the same feeling of warmth. I waited a month to buy it because I've been burned on so many games that release in EA (I'm a glutton for punishment I guess because I keep doing it) and I have to say I'm sad I waited because this is all I've ever wanted and it's not even the full release yet! Alright I'll stop gushing and get to the point. This game has a pretty solid foundation already. Some of the mechanics aren't fully implemented yet but nothing that stops you from enjoying the game. One gripe I have is that the camera movement for the furniture placing is still a bit clunky but I'm sure it'll go through improvements eventually. It's still workable and decorating is still fun. Otherwise I don't have any real complaints. No huge bugs, no game-breaking anything, even the bugs I do encounter are small and laughable. Mostly visual and not really worth mentioning even. The characters are cute and beyond that they actually have interesting personalities beyond NICE. I'm tired of games where all the characters are the same flavor of nice and lack depth. I enjoy talking to the different characters and I actually develop favorites that I can't wait to go see every day. The text doesn't repeat a crazy amount either which is nice. The devs are amazing and if I were you I'd join the discord because everybody is so kind there and quick to answer questions. Also some people mention it's a bit grindy but I'm biased because I love grindy games so I can't really speak on that. So far though it doesn't seem bad. If there's something that seemingly takes forever to get, you're probably missing a feature and should ask the discord server what you're doing wrong. There's a strange nostalgia in the game for me as well. A mix between the feelings I got from harvest moon (not to keep comparing it or anything) and pokemon mystery dungeon (because of the story and character writing) that I absolutely adore. The moment the clock strikes 10, the music stops, the owl hoots and I'm taken back to the original HM again, playing late at night in my room as a kid and trying not to get caught playing on a school night. Again I'm not sure how to explain it but this game feels like it has the heart that so many indie games seem to be missing these days. It's full of life and passion and yeah there could be some QOL changes and some bug fixes/content additions but as it stands now I can proudly say it's my favorite game around. Also disclaimer, I mention harvest moon a lot but it's really nothing like it in gameplay beyond farming and ranching. It's unique, something of its own. It's the nostalgia that makes me relate the two and the feeling I've been chasing since I lost that game so long ago. I can't wait to see this game grow. Anyway, if anybody made it through my rambling, thanks. I don't write reviews often.

this review is for the broke gamers who need to make sure every game is worth what it costs without the risk of it being unplayable or unenjoyable because every dollar in your life counts. as far as farming sims go, snacko is expensive. to be this early into early access and to be more expensive than full fledged farming sims that have been out for years is a surprising choice, one that i have heard deterred a few friends from taking the risk on snacko. that being said - snacko is worth it! for early access, the bugs are very minimal. the game has never crashed on me and the loading screens are short! and if you join the discord, the developer is very active and even offered to parce my save file to fix the ONE bug i found. it also has enough content to warrant the price. it allows you freedom to fish, fill the museum, farm, craft OR focus on the main storyline. and there IS a storyline that’s very enjoyable to follow! the characters and dialogue are cute and charming, i often found myself reading the dialogue out loud to my girlfriend in different funny voices because it’s so delightful and well written. the dialogue is probably the biggest standout of the game. the biggest issue right now is balance. its a pretty resource grindy game (typical of farming sims) but the amount of materials for crafting is off. 300 hardwood for this small thing? a furnace that takes a real life hour to smelt one bar? these things i found frustrating, but not game breaking. overall, i would say this game has enough hours of content to be worth the higher early access price tag!
