I only use the character creation tool. It is fast, easy, and does what I need it to do for my own personal projects.

Pros : - The animation editor is intuitive, allowing you to create fluid motion without needing deep technical skills. - Real-Time Preview your animations, making it easy to refine your work. - The ability to design characters and movements from scratch gives you full creative control. Cons : - Learning Curve: While simpler than many tools, it still takes time to master advanced features. - Limited Export Options: It would be nice to have more export formats for animations.

I think this game is really great! It's easier to learn then M.U.G.E.N. and is perfect for smash/rivals/multiversus fans. How ever there are some things I'd like to see in future updates -Custom Pallets -Making custom items -Items that can be incorporated into characters (Like peach's turnips) -Import Blender/Unity models -Grid based depth modifier -Adding additional moves (to make characters like Kazuya and Ryu) -Custom gauges (like Little Mac, Steve and Inkling) -The option to make Tandem fighters (like Mytra/Pyra or Zelda/Sheik in Brawl) -The Ability to make fighters with assists (Like Ice Climbers or Olimar's Pikmin) And that's really all I have to say. This game has a fun online community. And tell your friends about Smack Studio. because this game is worth every penny.

I'm a professional animator and digital artist with a huge love of fighting games and flashy combos. I'm also completely programming-illiterate. This is the game I used to fantasize about. The editor takes a bit of getting used to, but once you understand what's what, it's incredibly simple to use and puts a ton of potential at your fingertips. It allows someone like me, with zero programming knowledge, to create branching move trees, charged and uncharged projectiles, transformations, weapon-switching attacks, and all sorts of other wild shit that I would have zero idea how to code otherwise. Did I mention my digital art experience is exclusively 3D? The rig system is that good. The in-betweens are messy and tend to blur some of the detail, but there's genuinely no way around that without cleaning up every in-between by hand - which you can do by baking the rig to individual sprite frames, if you feel so inclined. Personally, I've just been using the basic rig and occasionally drawing the VFX for certain attacks, and I'm genuinely impressed by how good it looks in motion. The game's not without its flaws, and it's probably not a good choice for Baby's First Animation Project - you'll have a much easier time with the editor if you already have a general idea of how animation programs tend to work. That said, the devs have clearly put a lot of effort into making it as beginner-friendly as possible, and I found a lot of their tutorials and documentation legitimately helpful. Also, I fucking love the entire concept of this game and I've wanted to play something like it for years. Fingers crossed they continue supporting Smack Studio for a long time.

This game is everything a kid who grew up on Smash Bros could ever want. Anyone can make anything. Compared to other games like Rivals of Aether, this is so much more beginner-friendly. It's so nice that there are templates, and I don't need to know how to code. It's straight heat. I've been making characters for about 9 months now. I went into this thinking I'd get bored after a week or so. Yet here I am writing this review. I can't wait for 1.0. And to the devs, you guys are actual legends for making this possible. The community here is incredible.
