I played Crypt Custodian and loved it, so I had to check out Kyle Thompson's other games and this one did not disappoint either. Much smaller in overall size, but very enjoyable. Now the obvious thing to do is play Islets and finish the trio.

A really solid, short metroidvania. I highly recommend newcomers and fans of the genre alike try this one out. And if you end up being a fan, you'll be happy to hear that Islets (2nd metroidvania by the same dev) is also a delight and a much longer experience and I've heard great things, but haven't yet played, Crypt Custodian

Super fun, creative and charming, with just the right amount of game time. Controls are tight and mobility is fun right out of the gate. Some challenging areas, especially with bosses, and only really frustrating in a few parts, particularly with the sawmill boss. Going for 100% only takes another hour or so after completing the main game, which is great. Haven't tried speedrunning the full game yet, but I imagine those achievements and hard mode to be a worthy challenge for those interested. 8/10 Very enjoyable metroidvania without being too big or overwhelming.

Really, really, really cute game. Short and sweet mini-vania with a lot of charm. There's not a lot in the way of combat as it's mostly a puzzle-platformer, although the boss fights provided a decent challenge in their own right, especially considering the themes of the game and the protag you played as (as Sheepo doesn't really fight). Music and sounds were very calming and vibey too. Overall this game was a pleasant surprise and a joy to play.

Very fun and charming little game that feels very good to play! Fun movement, fun exploration, fun boss "fights", this is solid.
