It feels a lot more modern than the other Shantae games, but it definitely doesn't feel as good as most of the other ones. Not a "bad" game by any stretch, just that it seems like they tried to make the game "silly" and "funny" to the point where the gameplay itself feels a bit neglected.

Fun gameplay, smooth controls, good music and sounds, awesome animations and intro, nice eye candy all around. Peak Shantae! Worth it at full price.

I like this more than the Half-genie hero, but not as much as the The Pirate's Curse. Still a very fun game if you spend some time playing it.

Gameplay wise, this is marginally below the pirate's curse in a good way. The abilities you unlock are smooth and feel natural, no need to pause to dance for your transformations this time around. It is also a proper metroidvania this time, no level select. Everything is interconnected.
