I've been playing videogames since Pong hit arcades in my country in 1977. I've played them all. Severed Steel is simply one of the greatest, most fun games I've played in the history of gaming. Simple as. The Devs should be millionaires. Please buy this game. Imagine you're Neo in the matrix, but apart from the gunplay you can also traverse like in Mirror's Edge. And the visuals are like Tron mixed with Superhot. With an awesome soundtrack. WHy are you still reading this...PLAY PLAY PLAY!

It's Mirror's Edge with fully destructible levels married with Superhot level structure and goals. It's great fun for 20-30 min per day. Don't play too much in one sitting, it will get stale.

Here is what the game should plaster on every piece of advertising because it would make me buy in instantly: enemies can't hit you as long as you are doing stunts! Wall runs, dives, and slides all turn you into an invincible killing machine. You regain health and slow mo power with kills. In this game you don't die because you pushed too far, you die because you stopped. It's all about going forward-forward-forward! Have I mentioned that everything is made of fucking voxels and you can just blast through walls with a handcannon to get to more enemies? The solution to a fight is almost never to hide or retreat. I love this! The guns feel fun and satisfying and there are definitely some standouts you will be excited every time you get. The campaign is short and the enemy variety isn't huge, but there are plenty of levels past the campaign and other things that help spice up the gameplay. The story isn't the focus here. If you want an FPS that rewards you for keeping your foot on the gas 100% of the time, this is it.

The most underrated shooter ever made I have 52 hours at the time of writing this review and I have to say, as a person who loves F.E.A.R. Max Payne and John Woo films, Severed Steel is a joy to play and an amazing game to come back to from time to time. No other shooter in the market allows you to jump in the air, do a backflip, slow time and shoot 4 people with an auto shotgun all the while you are upside down and bullets are zipping past you. also forgot to mention the game features completely destructible voxel environments that allow the player to destroy literally every structure in a level to surprise groups of enemies or even retreat when in danger. When it comes to the campaign... well, its rather short and there isn't much in the way of a story aside from some custcenes and slide shows but where the game truly shines its in the Arena Mode and additional campaigns that provide a greater challenge. Severed Steel also has a mode called Rogue Steel that allows you to play random levels of all the campaigns with different mutators and perks, beating runs in this mode grants you with some minor cosmetic options that are neat to grind. Its a damn shame that almost nobody talks about this game, I've been playing shooters of all kind my whole life and this one right here Its one of my favorites, an absolute hidden gem for those who enjoy stylish refined combat.

Genuinely one of the most satisfying games I've ever played. A delightful mix of fluid parkour movement with what can only be described as delicious bullet time gunplay with a futuristic and stylish aesthetic. Severed Steel is a fun game that is just fun to dive in (literally) and play from a developer that is absolutely passionate about their project and has consistently supported the game since its release. Oh yeah, the enemies talk a whole lot of shit too.
