It's a cozy pirate sandbox. Would be cool if you could join the factions or become a pirate with a reputation meter or something. Also needs a bit more ship and sailor vanity customization. I'll definitely keep an eye on this one.

I don't usually do reviews, but this game deserves to be talked about. The biggest criticism we've seen in comments is true: there's VERY little content, even for early access (I think I did most of the quests in about 2 to 3 hours). BUT, the game is highly addictive, and the gameplay systems work extremely well. Despite the lack of content, I wasn't bored for a single minute, and I spent almost 20 hours just wandering around and chasing ships. It is really fun. I really like the graphics, the music is great, and I can't get enough of sinking enemies. I can't wait to see what happens next! I really don't regret my purchase. Congratulations to the developer, who has done a huge job.

I'm not sure why the top negative review is going on about things that are factually inaccurate. Money is easy to get, you just take out the crew of the ship and you get plenty of cash, valuables, parts, and repair your ship. For wood you can pick it up off water while sailing around or plant seedlings (you don't have to water these, which it even says in the item description in the game) wait a few days and then chop down everything. The only time I have ever hurt for wood is in the first hour and when doing big upgrades that cost like 250 wood. I've never fished for money and I've only planted crops once but got annoyed about the watering mechanic. Overall pretty good, but I do think that the crop mechanic / watering thing needs reworked if that becomes more important.

solid little indie game with lots of potential, and after beating what the game has to currently offer, these are somethings I liked or disliked. 1. You don't need to farm. Some people saying you need to farm 100s of wood pieces by planting seeds and watering them everyday, but you dont have to plant anything, destroying ships and picking up floating wood got me well over 500 logs and I got plenty of t4 weapons and maxxed out many ships. 2. The gold does feel a little useless, after I got a decent ship I just hung out around my main island and fought everything to upgrade my crew and got near infinite gold, dying basically wasnt a punishment, I would like to lose some random cargo or have my repeat revives cost more or potentially one of my crew get kidnapped and I can save them or let them get captured, just something a little more interacting than just paying 1k to get them back. 3. This is probably in the works, but having a skeleton crew would be super cool, maybe even flying dutchman boss. 4. More interactive seas would be cool, hostile boats never really went for me and hostile sea monsters would be sick, like mermaids try to pull you into the rocks with a song, megalodon, sea serpent, just anything to make the sailing different when I have to go back forth to islands. 5. Some of the quests bugged out for me and I never got to do them or maybe they just arent in the game yet, but I could never upgrade my boat bottle, and I never found Bubble Boy or deviled the letter to Barrel mama. 6. The bought ships are ass, I had 300k and no good ship, even from the special trader. I could only get a good one after defeating a boss and stealing theirs, I think stealing some notes from Poptropica would be nice. Only sell the best ships at a near end game island, make them super expensive and have reagent cost too like bronze or iron, etc. 7. Boat shields feel OP asf. Fighting against them feels like you can basically never win, and fighting with them on your boat makes it feel like you can never lose

First Impressions The Good [*] Enjoyable tunes to listen to [*] Stardew / Terraria meets pirate theme [*] No stamina [*] Tools from the get go [*] Characters feel more alive due to the occasional text bubble interaction when you walk around. It's a minor detail, but it adds to the experience [*] UI is clean and simple [*] Inventory/menu is great in my opinion. Everything is easy to find [*] If your inventory is full, stuff is automatically placed inside your cargo hold [*] Don't need to have stuff on you to sell it. When the shop menu opens, your inventory + cargo is automatically shown [*] Need to check if this is the case for all quests, but I found a bridge that needed fixing. Also had the quest for it already. I didn't have to go to the shop keep to get them to work on it (like in stardew). I could do it right then and there. [*] I like that there is a story and that it isn't a 100% sandbox game [*] The small detail where your ship isn't immediately going 100% speed and that it doesn't turn immediately (it's a ship after all) The Bad [*] Character movement is jittery/laggy. Sprite needs a couple more frames (Dev said they will look into this at a later time) [*] Quests that haven't been finished yet. Kudos though to the dev for putting 'Dev notes' on the quest. Again its just a small thing, but I rather have this, than wondering why the quest is seemingly ''bugged''. [*] It can be a bit finicky to interact with things or people at times, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Overall, a fun and relaxing game. It's EA, but I think this could become a gem!
