In Sea of Survivors, you can sail your ship in any direction but you can never stop moving. Evade and destroy hordes of pirates and sea monsters to gain experience, level up and choose upgrades for your ship. Explore and open world with mysterious curses, unlock treasures and fight for survival.

Sept. 2024

Sea of Survivors is a typical survivor-like game where you can't control the attacks and only control your “character”. Only in this game there is no possibility to stand still. I really liked the design, but the gameplay still needs some work. Personally, I don't think there are many builds that are good and that you can beat the game with. It also takes a while to get the hang of it and survive for a longer period of time. Nevertheless, I had fun and if you get the game in the sale, it's a really good price.

Fun game, the weapons are fun and having to navigate the ship reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean gba game. I hope for a future update to allow you to replace parts of the upgrades in runs (aka, if I have an crit chance upgrade but I wanna put an attack upgrade in because I am over 100% crit) that would make the game smoother to play. But this is very fun and an easy game to relax with, especially if you upgrade the armor to tank hits

Pretty decent, but not my favorite. I love the art style and the pirate theme for this genre, but man it's a bit of a slog especially at the beginning. Once you get some upgrades kicking in and figure out to prioritize going between the islands and stuff it starts to click a bit. I can see a lot of people dropping the game very early on due to how rough it is to get through the beginning, though.

A fun, 20 minute a run, bullet heaven rogue-like The charming, NES-graphics style sets a great stage, as it's got a solid base for a real nice VampireSurvivors type game, but it still has some rough edges. enemies ramp up REAL fast, and if you don't have a richochet, a damage, or a projectiles increase IMMEDIATELY you're gonna have a rough go. Luckily you can start a run with those if you invest the coin. Health drops are rare, so keep an eye out. The most unique part of the game, is the treasures board. You can group "clustered" treasures up to improve their stats, and leave the "chained" items on the outskirts of the board, as they don't need to be surrounded. This makes an interesting stat boosting mechanic. If the developer keeps this up, it'll be a fantastic game.

This is one of my favorite bullet heaven / survivors-like games. Its unique features (chained buffs, always moving, PIRATES!!!!) are super interesting and make me wonder what it will be like when v1.0 is released. The devs might not be very active in the steam community hub, but they will answer any questions and listen to comments and wishes from the community on their discord server. I definitely want to see more!
