i dont know how else to describe it besides an extremely good time. very funny writing, sam and max are genuinely one of the best comedic duos ever imo. fun puzzles that don't stray too far into goofy moon logic (or at least goofy moon logic for the rules of the sam and max reality). lots of good running jokes and bits, very good voice acting. overall an extremely solid game and a great remaster. the only thing missing is sam and max's extremely violent wedding tbh. but maybe thats are featured in the other two games. who knows, i haven't played them yet.

Really fun and clever puzzle game, especially considering how old it is. I remember playing it as a kid, and it's nice to be able to come 15 years later and still enjoy the game (evenmoreso than back then).

if you see reviews from 2020 that are complaining about censorship, do note that this game is around 8 hours long and the only youtube video that i could find that compiles all the censorship is 2 minutes long and has a fraction of it be wrong. other than that, this game is great. its very funny. please buy it.

Reviewing this from the perspective of someone who's never played the original 2006 version and isn't very familiar with Sam & Max overall -- I really loved the game. Visually, with an art direction made to look like an old comic/cartoon on top of the remaster's improved graphics, it looks amazing. The animations are also full of character and equally as amazing. The weird and goofy characters on top of the equally odd situations they get in is also a plus for me. I love the kind of humor the game has, both dialogue wise and situation wise. The dry humor that Sam gives along with Max's insane responses as comedic relief is really fun. Some puzzles can definitely feel disconnected and difficult leading to some frustration, but if you're familiar with classic Point-n-Click games, it shouldn't be too big of a problem. This is actually easier than most of them as a matter of fact, despite admittedly having to look to a guide a few times. Most puzzles though are pretty satisfying to solve. I also believe the game makes very good use of it's limited environments. That does mean you're going to be looking at the same set pieces very often which some people may get very tired of, though. Either way, the environments all look great. To talk about some changes from the original to the remastered that I am aware of and want to comment on: I guess they rewrote some of the more edgier jokes which were apparently funnier in the original. I'm not sure what these jokes were and I wouldn't be surprised if they were genuinely problematic jokes that understandably got rewritten and people are just throwing a fit, but I definitely think the game could've gone a little edgier. Also, one of the voice actors for a black character named Bosco got replaced, since it was a white voice actor playing him. I completely understand this and I think it's very silly that there's a good amount of people complaining about this. Though, I also understand a lot of people feel the new actor's performance isn't as good as the original's. Which is weird, since in my point of view, the original voice just doesn't sound right to me compared to the new one. Again, that's probably because I played the remastered first. Either way, I think replacing him was the right choice, regardless of the new actor's performance. UPDATE: I wanted to add that I've seen a couple examples of jokes that were supposedly removed in the remaster that I've definitely seen in the game? I don't know if they re-added some things at some point. Definitely give the game a try if you love wacky character driven stories and want to try out an easier introduction into Point-n-Click games.
