Sept. 2024

Saelig is what The Guild fans were hoping The Guild 3 was going to be. As someone who adores The Guild 2 I give Saelig by highest recommendation, It rides that odd line between management sim, city builder and RPG beautifully. PLAY THIS GAME and as a bonus give a small developer who are passionate about games and development support; they deserve your money and support more than Ubisoft, EA and Bethesda combined!

I got the game about 6.5 years ago and It was in early access then and still is. Why I point that out, I am very impressed that it is STILL being worked on. MANY steam games that are in Early Access for over a year die. I would like to thank the developers for not giving up, I will never doubt anything you produce that you will do your upmost to finish what you started. You are the Gold standard of game developers, that all should aspire to!

Had this game a while go. Forgot about it, until i saw a video on it now. Alot new things. Having a blast and recommend it! In my small village, i operate the only ale house, and all the fields of crops are mine along with some houses for rent. I bought one of my employees hut, made it into a trading post so i can export my wondrous ale, mead, wheat and bread to far distant cities whose market is in high demand. Unfortunately for my employee, he was now homeless, although i paid top dollar for his home. Fortunately for me, he ended up in one of my rent houses. :) I had begun to take over the lumber business, the family that owns them are pretty stubborn however, but i was able to buy one of the lumber huts from them (big hit $ for me to acquire the property), and then to my horror the fricking Vikings landed, raided our town and burned down the newly lumber industry i was trying to dip my greedy fingers into too. Bastards! cost me a fortune to buy the wood (scarce now since the village produces no wood at all thanks vikings) to re build the buildings, along with the updates required to get the storage space, etc. So i bought myself a sword, trained as much as i could, waiting for the day when the vikings return. Lo, they returned the next year like a dog addicted to a sweet that you once given him. I killed two of those demon-men. Looted their weapons, shield and rags they wore and stored it in my shed for my soon to be men im about to hire to guard my village empire, And possibly use them to burn down the last lumber shed used by my rival family, cause fuck them they wont sell me their shit ;)

I'm enjoying it. Started off as a survival game (mild Kenshi vibes), where I started as a beggar, made my way up, owned my own business, hired some staff, bought a 2nd home, rented it out. Then, after a bit of flirting, I was able to quickly marry the richest women in town (this ruined the pacing for me to be honest, as it was all too easy) and suddenly owned half the town, which then turned the game into more of a sim management game as I managed properties and businesses while staying in bed all day and having a new income of thousands per day, whilst my new wife spent her entire days at the local pub! Hopefully see more content in the near future, although I couldn't find a road map.

Nice casual medieval life sim. You have the same goals and play by the same rules as all the NPC, just living life as comfy as you can. There's always something needs doing, but you're never under big pressure. I've had one crash in 38 hours, and no bugs or serious pathing issues. 9/10 (10 if some tweaks to combat, and it's EA rn) Good example of an indie dev making the game he wants to play. If it happens to be your jam too, you're in good hands
