Rusted Moss has some of the most enjoyable traversal you can get in a platformer. It has traditional metroidvania style powerups, but the grappling hook-based movement is so dynamic and flexible it allows for all kinds of sequence breaks and unexpected puzzle solutions — you're limited less by what powerups you have and more by your ability to control the character, which the game naturally teaches you over the course of the game. As soon as I finished my first playthrough, I started another one and even on a brand new character with no abilities, I found myself zipping through the initial zones with all the movement tricks I had mastered on my first run. It has plenty of replay value if you want it, but it also values your time and doesn't drag on — I finished my first run in about 10 hours (94% map completion). Play this video game.

BEST METROIDVANIA EVER!!! So here's the deal, I've played all the other "best" metroidvanias and this game beats all of them. It's a masterpiece in almost all aspects, it's only beaten in atmosphere by Hollow Knight. The game excells in its gameplay mechanics, the grapple is the most fun thing to use and the fact that this game was made with speedrunning in mind is just amazing. The setting and the characters are so charming, the story is also the perfect balance of mysterious but not too cryptic. And don't get me started on the artstyle!!! It's just the best (in my opinion at leat, everyone got their own taste) Also the secrets, their really fun to discover. In conclussion, I LOVE this game!!!!! GO PLAY ITTTTTTTTTTT

This game is criminally underrated the grappling hook mechanics are incredibly fun and intuitive, and the story nails the feeling and ideas of fae.

This game is somehow hard and forgiving at the same time. Frequent and thoughtfully-placed save points and health/mana recharge points make it so that even if you suck (like I do) you can bang your head against it until you git gud. The setting is the real star of the show for me honestly. Olde timey faerie lore + dystopian near-apocalypse future? Hell yes. I stayed pure and didn't look up any guides and finished in about 15 hours. There's certainly more endings and collectibles for me to grab, so I might hop back into it, but I'm already a satisfied customer.

In the endgame as of typing this. Ignore the negative reviews complaining about the bungee rope, the game gives you plenty of rooms to figure it out and once you do this game has some of the most unique and fun movement in a metrovania. Gotta give this one a 9/10
