I hear it is very challenging at first but i thought it was super easy (maybe I have Toph genes). It is a really fun and dynamic game and you should definefly play it. The community is small but you downloading this and playing this will make it easier to get in a match.

I can't stress how amazing this game is. First of all, don't be fooled by the simple video on the store page. This game is INSANELY complicated. You dont press a single button on your controller, except to grab a lever here and there. This game is raw skill. You learn the moves painstakingly, losing the majority of the matches you have. You build muscle memory, learn combos made up of the skills you've just learned, fail more, and then finally, after you reach the highest belt... The game starts. And only when you reach the top belt does the game start. I've read a lot of the negative reviews, and the only bad things i seem to see is that people don't like the progression system and the wait times. And hey, I get it. Unlocking moves isn't super fun when the coolest things to do are only reachable in like the fifth hour. But that has a purpose, and its to teach you the game. Every single one of the moves you have to have memorized, and do them out of instinct, so the game teaches you the moves individually, lets you learn combos in between that might not seem super useful to your belt, but come in handy in the future. It seems useless to learn a hop (straight then kick), until you can later use it to bounce a wall off of a high explosive block to send it rocketing at your opponent. Take your time, perfect your moves, let yourself learn the martial art that is Rumble. As for servers and wait times, they've been getting better as more people join. As of October sixteenth, 2024, I can throw the switch to queue US East, and I'll have a game in under a minute. Bottom line, seriously, you need to try this game. If you have a VR set or not, go look some youtubers up and watch their videos. I recommend Windette to people who are new to the game, as he has a very good introductory video, and if you're looking to see some advanced gameplay, visit Shoeless or BIVN. Second, join the discords. They can show you everything Rumble has to offer, and builds the portal to an amazing community who prides themselves on teaching. (Seriously, ask anyone to teach you a move, and they'll show you exactly how. I've had people offer to meet me in game to do some personal training.) Please, please, please try this game. You won't regret it.

I'm gonna be brutally honest, for the first hour or two this game was incredibly frustrating and annoying. Moves werent going through, progression was slow, etc. However, i decided to just try and keep playing in hopes it would get better. It did. I genuinely cannot stress this enough: the combat system is so rewarding. Once you get to monolith/mountain you get the ability to do some genuinely really fun combos. It's hard learning a new move, and you WILL forget them in the middle of fights in the first few ranks, but once you push through you get a really fun game. The feeling of finding and preforming a successful combo that does really well is so satisfying, and the reward you get is so nice. This game is ABOUT trial and error, slowly building up combos. When you do, you feel so cool. There is a few issues though, which i will discuss now. As said earlier, the game is very frustrating to learn. As a new player, you feel as if every move has to be pixel perfect. You also progress slowly, so you're stuck with the same 3 moves for a while. Also, there's a very small playerbase. it's hard to find any matches below monolith, so it can be really tough and demotivating for new players. There's also only 2 maps, one of which has an extremely overpowered resource for Mountains (using flick on the big rocks on the rock map) Lastly, there's only 15 moves. While this does encourage creativity and working with the resources you have, it does get stale at times. Even despite these issues, the game is still incredibly fun and i cannot stress enough how fun some moves are (like hold and flick. the game gets like 3x as fun once you unlock hold). As for the issues the game DOES have, I'm really hoping the next update can fix some of these, as, if i recall correctly, new spells and gamemodes are planned in the future, alongside more maps. Closing statements: Buy it, i promise it will be worth it. There's not a HUGE amount of content at the moment, but there's still so much fun to be had with what there is. Don't just refund it after the first hour, the first 2 or 3 hours will be somewhat boring, I know. After that dead phase though, this game is almost perfect. TLDR: This game takes a long time to learn, but once you do it has one of the most satisfying combat systems in ANY vr game. It's still only early access, so there's still a lot to add, but this game is genuinely so fun. Buy it. It is worth it. 8.5/10

Rumble has been a test of my own relationship with myself. Learning anything can be difficult, it causes you to start blaming external factors, frustration, giving up. But every time I keep coming back to this gem, every time I push through the frustration, I come out having learned something, a move, combo, mechanic, or a better understanding of myself. Even better, the community is second to none and everyone is willing to help, every black belt knows the learning curve is tough, just chat with them. No other game offers the experience that a martial art does, Rumble is entirely unique, challenging and and a diamond.
