I bought this game because I'm feeling nostalgic. I spent hundreds of hours on the PS2 version and this game, and ROTK series in general, is truly a hidden gem masterpiece.

In my opinion, it is the greatest in the series in terms of strategy gameplay. However, the lack of an English version and out-of-date AI, even on the hardest difficulty, make the mid- and late game pretty boring. In short, it's a great buy.

It's a great game, and the English patch available here on the Steam forums makes the game completely playable. There's a bit of jank in a few of the event scenes, with some of the translations being really odd, but overall nothing that really takes away from actually playing the game. Hopefully there will be full official English support one day, but I won't hold my breath.
