Picked this out of complete randomness from my backlog and I haven't been able to put it down for days! It's yet another auto aim action roguelike but with a unique twist -- instead of running around in circles on a flat plane dodging mobs of enemies, Rogue Glitch Ultra is all about platforming. The levels are procedurally generated and so is enemy placement. These enemies are above you, below you, hanging on the walls, flying at you, running at you; and you need to jump and slide and hover to get near enough to them so your auto aim bullets take them out, but not too close. Unless you want to stomp them, which you can do if you're directly above. It's a really fresh approach to an enjoyable but somewhat worn out genre. The controls are tight and smooth to the point where every time I lose a life I know it was my sloppiness, not the game. And being an action roguelike you pick up different abilities and weapons on each new run and it's very well-balanced -- while certainly getting some good luck in the pickups will help your run, it's never a make-or-break situation, you're not doomed if you don't get lucky. There are so many weapons and abilities too, and most of them are helpful so you rarely feel like you missed out. Finally, even though the graphics are on the basic side, they really did a lot with a little here by making everything a glowy, glitchy, smeary neon that's amazing to look at, especially when you start getting some "glitch" levels deeper into the game where everything crackles and pulses with light. A gem of a game, unfortunately buried somewhere in the endless caverns of the Steam store. 9/10

there's endless fun and laughs to be had in this game, but i feel like there's not enough after the final boss except for the character unlock. if there were more to do, or more achievements or items to chase, i would give this game all my attention and probably never be able to peel myself away from it.

Genuinely one of my favourite games at the moment. The rouge lite aspects combined with the parkour style movement features makes for a comfortable yet enjoyable experience. I have enjoyed my many hours playing this game, and although the style and game play is very simplistic, it shows a lot of complexity and encourages players to master there movement and knowledge of items to progress through the game. I love each of the characters as well as they each demonstrate different characteristics and abilities that make the game feel new and exciting while still keeping the same feel of the game. Well done to Lino Slahuschek for creating such a unique and engaging game.
