Republique really was one of the games that was a bit ahead of its time for me, "a bit" because the camera switching mechanism was arguably similar to Ubisoft's Watch Dogs 1, released 1 year later. I have known of Republique since 2013, played it on iOS but never got a chance nor time to finish it. Now, 11 years later, I finish it. And looking back, really, the game was definitely good. Contrary to some opinions, I think the game, and the ending were definitely good. The Devs really invested a lot in the storyline, and how you would find out the pieces and put them together for the story of each character in the game. I think they explained the Mirror and what Hope is, in terms of using analogies on DNA. I think it was a bit way over my head, but maybe people who love biology will understand it more than I ever could. Or maybe I could understand them all one day in a Eureka moment. As for collectibles, I was a bit sad because I could not find them all, or there was no OMNI abilities to ping them for me to find, leading it to me unable to platinum this game. But that's fine with me! Anyways, I enjoy the music, the gameplay, the OMNI abilities. The guards' AI is fine, I don't think they are that bad. I view them as just some small obstacles for me to really enjoy the game with acceptable efforts, rather than needing to try hard to win this game. All in all, I would give this game 8.75/10 ; I wonder if one day there could be Republique 2? I don't know, someday there might be a follow up story sequel or comic sequel somewhere that shows a bit of Hope's life. The girl deserves happiness after all. Thank you Camouflaj and every dev for making this game. Love it!
