The game itself is challenging for my survival enthusiasts like myself! Comparable to the games stranded deep, Rust and rising world! There is an admin console for hosts, which has really great features. Enjoy!

Early access review. I play a lot of survival games, and i found REM and decided to give it a go as there was not a lot of information about the game itself, but there was an actual developer that was answering questions and comments which is pretty rare to find in games nowadays. Theres good and bad in the state of the game at the moment. The bad,, well at 160 hours in i have run out of real content to play,,,,,60 hours ago. There are some quests i just could not finish like crazy town, run around, get some heads, then get some vials,,,,,,got the vials but they will not count so,, quest is broken. The progression system, at 160 hours i have 37 points in luck, that gives me almost 2 levels in luck, there are 5 levels total at 21 points per level. Then add in Survival and craftsmanship which i have no points in, and you have a whole lot of grind to get anywhere. Combat, Combat is lacking, This definately needs work on a couple fronts. Get a gun. I could never get a good fight with a melee weapon, Hits just seemed to not hit right or you would have to take a hit to get a hit. Once you have a gun, shoot while backing up and you win every time. Like i said, Needs work. Having something to shoot at would also be nice. It almost seems like the crazies should be tripled to make it have more of something to do and have a slight challenge. Location location location..........we need more Poi's and things to do. Loot drops. If you like getting loot like a madman, this is the game for it. Unfortunately. the grade of good loot is extremely low, unless you have a lot of points in luck, but that would mean another 400 hours to get close to that and i just can't put that time in a game that has no more content to explore. How about some positive thoughts, i like the game, even as it stands just go in to it knowing that, this is Early Access, Expect 60 hours to wrap up what you can and put it on the shelf for when the game gets an update. I play a lot of games and have a lot of hours on a lot of games, i see the promise in this one for a couple reasons, One guy actively helping, chatting with players and making fixes on his game. The premise of the game is a unique spin on radiation areas and radioactive people getting close to you, that may just be me though. Random thought How many times have you played a game and wondered, " I wonder how this guy tastes? In a nutshell, This game has promise and i look forward to some additions or maybe some changes to make it better then it currently is. DONT change the buggy though,,,, 4 wheel steering dune buggies should be in every game if you ask me.

This game has both strong points and weak points. Here's the breakdown; Good sized map with good graphics. They're not quite as sharp as the graphics on SCUM or Deadside but they're more than good enough. Some have complained that it's too big but I strongly disagree. That complaint was probably made by Rust players who are used to small competitive maps. It's a vast landscape with mountains, trees, grassy plains and a desert area. You get a good sense of isolation and loneliness, as you should in a post apocalyptic environment. You also have dangerous wildlife to watch out for and other enemies to keep you on your toes and be alert to your surroundings. You can choose between PVP or PVE servers. The base building mechanics are good and very similar to Rust. There are some in game tutorials and crafting guides to help build your first shelter and some basic stuff to help you get started. Where I felt the game was lacking and needs improvement was the map and points of interest. I felt the map was too barren with vast woodland and mountains etc, but not much else. There's not much in the way of man made structures like houses and towns to keep it interesting. A "town" is usually only about four houses and maybe a church and/or gas station and that's it. All the buildings have the same cut/paste interiors with very little inside, maybe a couch, old TV, bed and a small kitchen unit and that's it, the rest of the building is bare. When you compare this to say VEIN where all the houses are full of furniture and interesting places to explore and search, this is lacking. After this you don't see any other civilisation for miles, just more and more trees, grass and hills leaving it feeling a bit uninteresting. Other survival games like DayZ, SCUM and Miscreated have large towns with high rise buildings to explore which gives you the excitement of being able to search more interesting high risk areas before escaping back to the safety of the woods to your base. This is where I feel the game has a weak point. I did come across a couple of army type barracks and an abandoned amusement park, but it was radioactive so nearly impossible to explore. And that's another problem. The radiation. A lot of the points of interest were highly radioactive making them essentially out of bounds unless you had some protection, which I found none of. This didn't give me much incentive to continue playing as the map seemed quite barren as it was and the only interesting looking places were radiated. On top of this the servers are nearly all but dead meaning there's only about maybe four players total across all the servers meaning you're practically by yourself and don't have the added exitement of meeting other players for combat or to make friends. In the end I uninstalled the game as I didn't see the point in grinding for hours to build a base and collect loot if I didn't really have any incentive to do so as there just wasn't anything that interesting to do on the map. That being said I am not giving up on the game totally. I understand it's made by a very small team, maybe one person, and it's still early access, I just cant spend a lot of time on it in it's current state. It really needs some more interesting towns and buildings to explore and more players to give people more reason to invest their gaming time in it. Once the game has been developed further I'll check back in and give it another chance as I think there's good potential here, it's just lacking right now.

Honestly, the dev is an amazing person. He's super kind and will answer any questions/issues you have. This game is very similar to Rust, however this game was being built roughly at the same time. Rust came out earlier because they had a larger team compared to this game being a solo dev at the time. Everything about it is pretty good and constantly has updates with new additions. There are some things I like/dislike but thats personal preference. I would love to see a larger player base to make it more fun on PVP servers. The most fun I had on this game was when my duo and I found a 6 man clan just a short run from our base and we got into constant fights with them and then raided them out of the area. That was short lived because they quit the game or server shortly after.. I haven't seen any groups or really any PVP since and that's disappointing. Lets get more people to join in on the fun and i'll come back :)
