Early access review. I play a lot of survival games, and i found REM and decided to give it a go as there was not a lot of information about the game itself, but there was an actual developer that was answering questions and comments which is pretty rare to find in games nowadays. Theres good and bad in the state of the game at the moment. The bad,, well at 160 hours in i have run out of real content to play,,,,,60 hours ago. There are some quests i just could not finish like crazy town, run around, get some heads, then get some vials,,,,,,got the vials but they will not count so,, quest is broken. The progression system, at 160 hours i have 37 points in luck, that gives me almost 2 levels in luck, there are 5 levels total at 21 points per level. Then add in Survival and craftsmanship which i have no points in, and you have a whole lot of grind to get anywhere. Combat, Combat is lacking, This definately needs work on a couple fronts. Get a gun. I could never get a good fight with a melee weapon, Hits just seemed to not hit right or you would have to take a hit to get a hit. Once you have a gun, shoot while backing up and you win every time. Like i said, Needs work. Having something to shoot at would also be nice. It almost seems like the crazies should be tripled to make it have more of something to do and have a slight challenge. Location location location..........we need more Poi's and things to do. Loot drops. If you like getting loot like a madman, this is the game for it. Unfortunately. the grade of good loot is extremely low, unless you have a lot of points in luck, but that would mean another 400 hours to get close to that and i just can't put that time in a game that has no more content to explore. How about some positive thoughts, i like the game, even as it stands just go in to it knowing that, this is Early Access, Expect 60 hours to wrap up what you can and put it on the shelf for when the game gets an update. I play a lot of games and have a lot of hours on a lot of games, i see the promise in this one for a couple reasons, One guy actively helping, chatting with players and making fixes on his game. The premise of the game is a unique spin on radiation areas and radioactive people getting close to you, that may just be me though. Random thought How many times have you played a game and wondered, " I wonder how this guy tastes? In a nutshell, This game has promise and i look forward to some additions or maybe some changes to make it better then it currently is. DONT change the buggy though,,,, 4 wheel steering dune buggies should be in every game if you ask me.

Honestly, the dev is an amazing person. He's super kind and will answer any questions/issues you have. This game is very similar to Rust, however this game was being built roughly at the same time. Rust came out earlier because they had a larger team compared to this game being a solo dev at the time. Everything about it is pretty good and constantly has updates with new additions. There are some things I like/dislike but thats personal preference. I would love to see a larger player base to make it more fun on PVP servers. The most fun I had on this game was when my duo and I found a 6 man clan just a short run from our base and we got into constant fights with them and then raided them out of the area. That was short lived because they quit the game or server shortly after.. I haven't seen any groups or really any PVP since and that's disappointing. Lets get more people to join in on the fun and i'll come back :)

I loved this game. It has a dedicated server, so I can play with all my friends using our own hardware, with low ping. We set the configurations as we like, and there are no toxic players. It's hard for all of us to play at the same time together, but with a dedicated server, everyone can join anytime, do what they need, and we can join later and see what they did ;) About the game, the building and combat are not good; they definitely need more work, but nothing that really destroys the game. The building has many tiers (sticks, wood, stone, metal), and you can upgrade your buildings without needing to demolish them, which is great! I really loved all those tiers ;) The map is big; there are many towns, points of interest, and places to loot. There are human enemies and animals. You have to hunt, eat, and drink. The water you get is mostly polluted, so you need to clean it on a campfire. That's the way I love! You have to explore to learn new blueprints. It's random and hard, but it forces everyone to explore and play hard. If you think you will be able to just cut trees, rocks, and metals to build and craft everything without exploring, you're totally wrong. There are radioactive zones, so you must be prepared to enter those areas. There are a lot of weapons, items, and tiers too, which is amazing. The building system needs electricity and power, which is nice too. There are different biomes, but I did not notice many changes to the gameplay. Temperature is okay in the desert, forest, and all other areas. No need for special clothes or equipment. If you like survival games and want to play with your friends and the people you like, and configure the game as you want, this game is for you!!!

So I am really enjoying this game I want to mention I do play it on the steam deck with an Xbox controller not sure how it will be with the deck it's self I'll try latter on now typing is impossible other then r f e lol but it is very playable unfortunately there is no button set up for n either but this could be due to the controller settings I have lol but other then those 2 issues and a sometimes black screen that goes back to normal relatively fast this is definitely a Dimond of a game think with some more love from the devs this would be as big as most survival games out there for those who don't want mutans or zombies lol 😀 also devs can you make the pre-made buildings breakable or claim able when I say breakable I mean we get like cloth from beds ect or piping from sinks that way when claiming a pre-made house we can build our own furniture and get resources from the broken down stuff 😀
