Reflex Arena is the only true AFPS left, and I’m absolutely captivated by it! Amongst Quake, UT, Doom, TF, Diabotical, HL1, and others, this game stands out. Here’s why: Lightning-fast loading – Just like UT99, you jump straight into the game without waiting for server logins, intro videos, or sponsor screens like in Quake Champions. Clean and polished graphics – No unnecessary distractions like in QC, and it runs smoothly even on low-end PCs, unlike Diabotical. Minimal installation size – Only 2GB, compared to Open Fortress, which requires TF2 (30GB), SDK (2GB), and OF (3GB). Simple yet deep movement mechanics – Easy to learn how to gain speed, change directions without losing momentum—unlike QC, where each champion has a different movement system. Pure, brutal, and focused – A single robotic character, unlike Quake, UT, and Doom, where multiple demons and grotesque characters could be overwhelming for some. Perfectly animated weapon positioning – Centered like QC, making it feel incredibly responsive. Optimized controls – MOUSE2 is free, perfect for jump binding, while SPACE is great for crouching—no need to strain your pinky on SHIFT. This game is an AFPS masterpiece!

A game that is truly dead, and you need to join discords or play with friends if you don't want to just play against bots all day. As of writing this review, I am the only online player (via SteamDB). That aside, highly polished game. Everything feels so smooth to shoot and play with. Skill expression is infinite. Really unfortunate that nobody plays, I imagine it would be very fun if you could just hop into full FFA lobbies or participate in an active competitive community. WAIT FOR A SALE THOUGH! 10 dollars is way too much for a game with literally no players (aside from the nostalgic veteran here and there). I got the game when it was on sale for a dollar, and bought it for some friends as well and had some good fun. If they ever run a sale like that again I would highly recommend picking this up.

This is like the best arena shooter we could have asked for. it has it all! Matchmaking, servers that you could vote the map and change the game mode on, a map editor, LAN play(and i think you can do this with just one copy of the game),the robots were cute. It really is a fantastic package. It really is something special. Nowadays, the servers are rather empty, and like all Afps games before it, you now have to go out of your way to try and find someone to play with.
