Classic. Play with bots. The game itself is a bit more hardcore than Battlefield. Still very enjoyable. I like it much more than RO2.

This game is a pure nostalgia trip. Also the tank combat is very intuitive for a game so old.

The original Red Orchestra is completely different from its sequel. It has animations, atmosphere and gameplay that all come together to push players to play more careful and use teamwork instead of run around as though game were a random team death match game. The game is much slower. It has slower animations that are more detailed and weapons have a much smaller field of view. This makes it so that aiming means committing to being vulnerable and firing a commitment to being defenseless for a long time. It has darker maps with more screen shake, smoke and miserable weather like storms that force one to take shelter, stay down and stay near others. More importantly though is that it has longer respawns that demand players walk to the front instead of spawn right into the action. This sunk cost encourages people to be more cautious and not just run & gun as though they were playing a modern Call of Duty game. Both the Red Orchestra games are good, but this one is just better at being as "realistic" as you can be with a videogame without being silly about it. The only real issue with this game is finding people to play with who have decent pings.

After playing this game for about an hour, this is probably going to be a quick review for a game I've played for an hour that's well known. This game is a where you have to be wary of your surroundings and you can die in one, two, or more hits If your lucky. One time I got a shot in the head and I managed to survive. Also in this game you can get your gun shot out of your hand which is pretty annoying but is pretty realistic to the situation your in. The guns can jam which can be annoying. Would be nice to have that in the game Rising Storm 2: Vietnam since from what I heard the m16 is known to jam during the Vietnam war. So you either choose the Axis which is the Germans or the Soviet Union. They both have different firearms that can be good or bad depending on your style of firearm. There are gernades, pistols, rifles, smgs, lmgs, snipers, and explosives to use to that can help you progress in the game. I did play multiplayer that is still alive with some people that showed me on how the game goes. I didn't even know that you have to use the Z button to pick up the gun and use the \ key to drop a gun. One match I was able to get 2 quads in a row in a match but It was with bots which makes sense now when I look back at it. I played about 3 maps and my least favorite one where you get to use tanks in a village and the match ended pretty quick for like under 5 min which is the quickest match I ever had in a Red Orchestra game that I haven't just joined in. I like that in the Soviet side you get some of the old guns that aren't in Red Orchestra 2. Although I do miss that you can't do campaign in Red Orchestra 2 but i'll save that on my Red Orchestra 2 review. I did play with bots with myself to get used to the control of the game which made me better when I played it. To use iron sight you can click i button or the middle mouse which is weird but I got used to it. I managed to win 2 matches with the help of the bot command which helped me out a lot in the game. I didn't get a chance to try out the LMG but I will try it out next time I play tomorrow. I did try out the sniper which was pretty hard at first and I didn't even know you could go prone until I realise you have to press the ALT key. You can mount on certain areas but it's pretty annoying to get into a right spot. Shame that not that many people are playing this game and I'm ashamed of being late to playing it. I do like visauls in the game that gets you immersed to the darkest peroid in history. I give this game a 8 out of 10.

This was a great game. It allowed you to play as a first person shooter on either side German or Russian and different roles and weapons. Yet, also allowed you to play tank vs tank. Great all around game.
