Finally, my favorite action-platformer from childhood is reborn with cutting-edge graphics! The world, characters, voice acting, humor, and gunplay are all vibrant, stunning, and utterly captivating. An absolute must-play—100% recommended!

As a childhood fan of the PS2 era of Ratchet & Clank and never owning any of the newer released console, having a game on PC has been a revival for me back into the franchise. I cannot believe how good this game looks. Rivet's story is definitely the highlight of the game for me. It feels like a classic Ratchet & Clank game but its humor is dialed down to be more child friendly I suppose. The game is painfully short and has me wanting so much more. I'm looking forward to another PC release from Insomniac.

i'm honestly unsure on what exactly to say but the writing made me frown a few times with how strange everyone acts in this game (dr nefarious being a jobber, ratchet being scared of things 10x less threatening than even what he faced in the 1st game)... and then the gameplay made me feel as giddy as when i played crack in time for the first time... it's quite the impressive game no doubt and the arsenal finally gets new things in it instead of just the weapons from ToD for the 6th time... bizarre game but quite fun

Personal history with Ratchet & Clank franchise It’s 2002 Christmas Eve, 9-year-old of me is waiting impatiently on the couch to open the presents. Eventually getting the permission to open the packages. Inside found Playstation 2 gaming console and Ratchet & Clank video game. I knew little about the PS2, but nothing about the game itself. As PS2 powered on and R&C inserted in, spending over 6 hours straight playing and writing my journey of the franchise to future years to come. Younger days, most of us had only one to two games to play through whole year. Huge thanks to Insomniac Games for planning and ensuring the players will stay hooked to their games long enough till new release. Remembering that the R&C3 was completed over 10 times before moving to a newer release. Skipping to 22 years later, my glorious console gaming days were long gone, as last R&C experiences being A Crack in Time from 2009 and Into The Nexus from 2013. One day opening the Steam front page and seeing something so beautiful my eyes start to tear up. A sale prompt about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart , which I had totally forgot being released to PC some months back. All the previous memories from the past rush through my mind and deciding to buy it on the spot. For a while haven’t been so impatient to wait for a weekend to have enough time to play out the game thoroughly. Notice: Only skipped the PSP games and 2016 R&C release + the movie about it. The actual review Once starting the game, cried a bit once meeting my teenage heroes Ratchet and Clank. The voice actors have been kept as same, but their general dialogue in the main story has been updated to please the newer generation gamers alike. This wouldn’t bother too much but the story pacing takes a hit from this. As having at least few moments as “Couldn’t we had stayed in this moment for a little longer, than skipping right away to the new stuff?” Knowing the previous storylines, kept check boxing while playing where different things were originally occurred. Building the game from these cornerstones, this is the best experience newer generation R&C players could ever have. Once finishing the game, it feels like the story of the R&C can finally end happily to this release and we don’t need any newer games anymore. The weaponry is still pure titanium. With fifteen new and five returning weapons with odd and fun attributes: – Mr. Fungi, an automatic attack drone of a fungi-like companion, spitting poison attacks and puns at your enemies. – Topiary Sprinkler, release your inner flower power and sprinkle flower water over your enemies and make them a nice garden statues, till they rumble to dust. – Buzz Blades, unleash the targeting lethal saw blades which ricochet off enemies and surfaces guaranteeing hitting multiple targets. lastly the fans favorite, search stack of secret items to unlock the legendary weapon with no comparison alike to its firepower and destruction it leaves behind RYNO 8 Mix and match these weapons, upgrading them through gameplay. These weapons will guarantee the destruction of your enemies and eventually bring balance back to galaxies. Game is easily completable under 16 hours with highest difficulty for a veteran player and get 100% of achievements. Also having replayability with the Omega-weaponry, so veterans buckle up as we have weaponry to upgrade.. Unfortunately due some encountered bugs as; – falling through floors to death – getting stuck to some terrain and roof areas – exiting a rift in a boss fight resulting to get stuck in-place, still managing to kill the boss. But still requiring to restart game due unable to move anywhere. – in middle of rift boss right, activating a cutscene of landing to totally new area and continue playing for few meters till falling through map to death. I cannot give this game the best score available. Final score: 9/10 As my last words, I thank the Insomniac Games for delivering a loved game franchise. Your team gave me meaningful youth through the games, even if the same years were quite challenging to overcome. Let your franchise also end as gloriously and peacefully as the fans want to.
