I bought this game a couple of years ago but gave it up after a short time as there seemed to be a lot of bugs. I recently took it up again and have now played it right through and got all the achievements - some with the help of the many useful guides and posts on Steam. Having played well over 200 hours I have noticed many bugs and oddities, although none of them were game-breaking, they reduced my enjoyment of the game. The following is not an exhaustive list: 1. The dogs and cats always wander off and die after a day or two no matter what you do (there are many posts on Steam about this but never fixed by devs). 2. The beehive frames are sometimes not honey coloured, just plain but they still work if said to be at 100% (devs aware as have responded to an earlier post by me but not fixed). The honey barrels cannot be placed correctly once the previous one has been filled unless the hive is opened and a frame taken out and put back in (at least that's what worked for me) - again others have posted about this but devs have not fixed it. 3. When pulling a trailer (any trailer, any vehicle) instead of staying on third person view, you get a view of the back of the towing vehicle which means you can hardly see anything ahead - am at a loss to know why the devs thought this was a good idea. 4. Gates around the ranch that were left open are closed when you restart after a save game - not handy if that was your pig corridor for instance. 5. The default ranch house that I tried required crouching to get up the stairs so I built my own instead. 6. As a controller user I found it amazing that the devs had programmed the left and right triggers for foward and reverse on the tractor and the harvester and the same controls for raising and lowering the headers, cultivator and composter. I had to revert to the keyboard to work on the fields (There appears to be no option to rebind the controller keys). 7. The crops from the fields could not be used to fill the silos, only sold - doesn't seem very logical. 8. The small white pick-up truck cannot be used in first person view at night as the windscreen is filthy by default and I cannot find a way to clean it. It also snakes all over the road for no apparent reason. 9. Using a controller, all the vehicles pause before leaping forward (or backwards) which makes them difficult to manoeuvre or hitch to a trailer. Trailers may unhitch when a game is exited and restarted. 10. The weather cannot be toggled, it rains a lot and thunderstorms (although graphically pretty good) cannot be disabled as the option to do this does not work (again devs aware but not fixed. 11. The day/night length is much too short and should be capable of being set by player - like Farming Simulator. In order to get jobs done in the day, player has to be running everywhere all the time. Despite these issues I enjoyed the animal management side of the game, milking and making the cheese and sausage products. These all worked pretty well. Not keen on killing with the stun gun though -maybe consider an option of taking animals to an abbatoir. Anyone aiming for the millionaire achievement will find that the Treasures of the Ancients quest is the gift that keeps on giving - every couple of game days (I had to use a guide on Steam to find them in the first place though - the helmet was pretty easy but the other two are quite hard to spot). Pigs are the quickest way of making money. They breed very quickly and at one point I had so many they brought the frame rate down to almost zero. The game cannot cope with too much success it seems! I let them out of the pens and soon had them all over the ranch where they promptly died from lack of food - they did not go back through the open gates to feed, seemingly lost up the mountains. However once skinned many thousands of dollars can be made and the game frame rate will recover once all the dead bodies and skinned meat has been cleared. In my experience the default barns are not necessary. troughs in a fenced area will do fine. You will probably want to build a milking shed though which the game enables you to do. I imagine that a lot of people who are looking at this game have also played Farming Simulator, as have I. It is quite a different type of farming experience to FS. You cannot shoot the wildlife in that but here you pretty much have to to get through the early stages of the game (the Hunter will reward you with a rifle in exchange for completing a quest, which makes shooting deer, bears, wolves and foxes a lot easier than with the revolver). The idea here is much more biased towards an Alaskan style survival experience where it is do-it-yourself or die. In that it succeeds pretty well but please devs fix those annoying bugs!

This game has a fun and crafty foundation, however there is not all that much to do. The game feels boring after 10-15 hours of playing solo. The game is better if you have a couple of friends with you, but that just makes the lack of content even more noticeable. You can complete things and collect items more quickly with the more friends you have with you. [*]Optimization is almost non-existent. [*]Random lags spikes for no reason. [*]Trailer physics are horrible. [*]Vehicle physics are horrible. It is nearly impossible to drive anything but the Chevy S10, and the box truck. On the plus side, farm equipment is at least manageable to operate. It is not exhilarating but doable. I have a bad feeling that this game will lack updates given the same developers are developing this game below. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3179350/Long_Drive_North_CoOp_RV_Simulator/?curator_clanid=32976461
