Fun concept but way too grindy. Worst ending I've ever seen in a video game. Still recommended if it's on sale.

I bought this on sale, not knowing anything about the game at all other than it's a boxing game with pixel graphics. To my complete and utter surprise, it ended up being one of my new favortie games to play! It's 2D, open world sorta and you have to level up your character through training, sparring, and working out while maintaining proper sleep/food/work etc...the two characters that strongly resemble Jay and Silent Bob outside the Grocery Store absolutely made my entire day when I saw it. The only thing that throws me off about the game is the fighting. You cannot control the guy during the fight, you just pre-plan your moves and watch while your character implements them during the round. It's kinda cool though how it involves good planning skills though. Certain moves use more stamina than others so you have to pick and choose wisely. Overall 9/10. Absolutely surprisingly fell in LOVE with this game!

Punch Club is a solid time management game (with an actual good story)! I accidentally beat it without doing all the side objectives. There's so much content and it's a lot of fun! A bit grindy especially in the early game, but it gets so good later on. Definitely give it a punch! ;)

This is a straightforward arcade game where the gameplay hinges on time management. To progress, you must win battles by enhancing your combat attributes - strength, endurance, and agility. These attributes tend to decline if training is neglected. Simultaneously, the protagonist needs to replenish energy, eat, and even engage in leisure activities. All these necessities demand money, which can be earned through various means, including illicit ones. Battle victories yield points that can be used to acquire new skills, such as fresh attacks and assorted power-ups. The crux of the game lies in strategizing which skills to upgrade initially (as not everything can be upgraded) and determining which attributes are worth investing your training time in. The game isn’t particularly challenging, but as you advance, the need for “grinding” increases, which can become monotonous. The game offers two endings: one for the “good guy” and another for the “bad guy”. The “bad guy” path involves working for criminals, serving time in prison, ascending to the rank of a gang leader, and reconciling with his brother. The “good guy” path entails winning professional fights, undergoing rigorous training in Siberia, becoming the world’s most renowned fighter, and defeating his brother. Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of the game is its meme quality. It’s filled with parodies and references to various films, games, comics, etc., which adds a fun element to the experience.
