This game was a really fun platformer with a unique story that never felt boring or dragged on too long. Since it's from 2005 though, theres a whole lot of jank in terms of controls and missing jumps so if you can get through that, I'd highly recommend it still. I played with a controller for 95% of the game but you do need a mouse to navigate some settings when paused. In terms of completion, clean up is not too bad but being able to find all the figments can be terrible even with the use of a guide.

Imagine if Tim Burton and Jim Carrey went to therapy together but ended up opening a summer camp for training people to break into each other’s minds. The gameplay feels like a soulful platformer: you jump, collect and lose yourself on levels that look like the designers brainstormed after three cups of coffee and two cups of mushroom tea. Psychonauts is when you expected action but got therapy and realized you kind of love it.

It's like Tim Burton met the Rayman devs and made a game about psychics in summer camp. The game is very fun, corky, and humorous with an art style can be hard to look at (especially with one of the camp bullies). If you can look past part of art style you have a solid 3D platformer and will see the charm in it. My only issue with the game was in the final level, there is a part where you chase Raz's father, specifically were there is climbable walls/nets that are partially on fire spiraling up as the room floods... . It is annoying and forces you to exploit a small section(s) you can barely stand on to get a decent jump distance. Other than than one specific annoyance the game was really fun with very unique level designs that kind of tell you about several character psychology through art direction

11/10 game super fun story awesome gameplay loved the world building with all the characters stories inter mingling this game deserves to be played by everyone who likes 3d adventure games.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your computer is running Windows 11, you'll have to go through the game files to the .exe file and set the compatibility mode to windows xp. My game wouldn't run because I didn't have the correct version of Direct3D. The "README" file in the game flies will link you to the correct version of Direct3D, though even after I downloaded it I occasionally still had issues launching the game. This game is awesome and ahead of its time. If you like lore and trippy environments then I definitely recommend Psychonauts :)
