This game is CRIMINALLY underpublicized. It is soooo good that I really wish more people can find out and enjoy this game. It is full of originality while capturing that SuperMarioOdyssey-like fun experience in exploration, puzzle solving, and intricate platforming with simple mechanics. The sound and animation is also executed very well. I enjoyed every bit of the game from start to finish. Please Please give this game a try.

Wow, what a fantastic game. There really needs to be more attention and noise regarding this gem. It's a wonderfully creative and enjoyable game with fantastic music. This is very much a 2D version of games like Mario 64 or Odyssey. You enter a new world and have to figure out how to collect every piece of cog needed to open up the next world. The overworld is an elevator leading up and down to each world and it is filled with cog pieces to find too. Sometimes the challenge is simple, other times it requires a puzzle to be solved, and towards the end it really ramps up (the extra end game challenges are particularly tough). I thoroughly enjoyed collecting every cog piece and heartily recommend this to anyone who takes a look at a video and becomes intrigued.

It’s absolutely criminal this game doesn’t have more media attention. I’ve played countless platformers and this stands among the greatest ever made. Can’t recommend this game enough.

I play a lot of platformers. I love the genre, but it can have a lot of duds. Either games with repetitive mechanics or cheap deaths, or ones where the controls don't feel quite right or tight enough for the dexterity they demand. And then you have Promenade, a game that came seemingly out of nowhere and is the single best platformer I've played in years. The fact that this has only 86 reviews on steam right now is very troubling to me, because I hope it doesn't mean that it sold poorly. This game is a masterpiece. So what sets it apart? First of all, it's not structured like a traditional 2D platformer, but as something much more open. Think less metroidvania (a genre I'm not a fan of personally) and more Super Mario Odyssey but in 2D. A collectathon full of mini open worlds where collecting enough gears will allow you to progress to the next mini open world. Each level is absolutely stuffed full of charming secrets, fun mini games and platforming challenges that range from simple and quick to totally sweaty palm fodder. It's never excruciatingly difficult but maintains a good balance and is no pushover. I won't go on too long, but just be aware that Promenade is one of those rare platformers that has *almost* no flaws. It is incredibly charming and wholesome, oozes creativity and passion at every turn, controls well and feels amazing to play. There are two tiny problems: 1. A few frustrating moments of cheap deaths (could probably count them on one hand) 2. A "Unity stutter" problem that is fixed by locking your frame rate to a multiple of 50 (cap it to 60 fps on steam deck and you're golden). Play Promenade. Buy it on sale, buy it full price, just buy it. The best $20 I spent all year, and at 10 hours for basic completion plus a few side things, has plenty of content.
