This was a very enjoyable experience for me! It was so easy to become addicted to it because there's always so much to do, even though it's still in Early Access. I was able to finish the story and escape with my only real issue being a missing valve, which I eventually found thanks to help from @MajecticKarLyn. I did not have to restart or reset any quests to advance to the finish. The graphics are great, in my opinion, with detailed land and water textures. The clouds, water, trees, bushes, fire, etc. are all rendered in beautiful detail. There are lifelike weather cycles with storms and rain, and changing seas depending on the winds and weather. The controls are simple enough, maybe too simple in some cases because the same keys have different meanings with different items. The quests are great and I encourage you to read the letters and notes to follow the story. The islands are all unique and did not feel repetitive to me at all. I will continue playing, even though I completed it, because just building different structures and rafts and becoming totally self-sufficient on an island paradise is fun and relaxing. And, if you want a little excitement, there are plenty of sharks to be hunted for food. Now, it is Early Access and, I did have many frustrations, but nothing that kept me from playing 85 hours total. I have seen Early Access games that were released way too early and deserved to be refunded, however I don't feel that this game falls into that category. There's plenty of fun to be had even with all the current issues. My advice is to save often and only when nothing strange is going on, flipped rafts, flying objects, etc. I'm posting the log of issues that I encountered while I played. I'm sure most, if not all, of these issues are known by now, Please don't take this list as anything other than constructive criticism. Ignore what you are aware of and maybe there's one or two things in there that are helpful. 1. The way time flows in the game is strange. Very slow sailing on a raft, very fast on land. The time to do things, cure hide, smelt bars, etc. seem to have no relation to the clock time. 2. Need a bigger cursor than the little white dot which is impossible to see sometimes. 3. Textures start to go crazy. Noticed on raft where boards, sails, etc. would have a strange texture or just look invisible. Seems to happen after multiple reloads after dying, which also take longer and longer the more you reload. Maybe a memory leak. 4. Need a better way to get back on the raft than "Hold E", which is shared with everything else. So, trying to get on raft could grab you a log, raise your sails, start your fire, etc. depending on where you are at the time. 5. Need a way to pick up and drag items with the cursor without having to have the backpack out. Especially because you lose all turning when the backpack is out. Something as simple as putting shards in the smelter oven requires you to open the backpack and then drag, either from the ground or the backpack. 6. When steering the raft, we should be able to move our head more than the 45 degrees or whatever the angle limit is now. This would prevent having to escape out of the steering just to look around. 7. Speaking of steering, when we escape out of it, just leave me looking forward, don't turn me backwards. 8. Need an indicator for how many of what item you have in your backpack or storage boxes. 9. Too much clicking through items to other items underneath, especially with the backpack open. And, the same key combinations are used so the action is not always what was intended. For example, if you have the hammer out and you try to do some other action that uses "R", then it will start building mode. 10. Things on the raft can randomly move from where you built them. Storage box moved after save to cover fire and bed, etc. Once I got an arrangement that was stable though, it seemed to stick for the remainder of the game. 11. Maybe add some binoculars to view the distant islands. Especially when you add more islands. 12. Need a couple more item locations in the backpack, or at least larger capacity in a single slot for like items. 13. Putting things in and taking things out of storage boxes needs work. In order to move things around after you drop them, you again have to take the backpack out before you can drag the items to arrange them. Another example is, I'm cycling through my items to see which ones to place in the box and if I pass by a stone with "F (Next)", it smashes the stone because both actions share "F". 14. Spiders can bite you when you can't see them and you basically just die. It happens in foliage, but I've also had them kill me while I'm standing on my raft and they are under the raft. I can't kill them because I can't see them, but they just keep biting me. 15. Sometimes the warning that you are low on health happens immediately before you die, with little advanced warning. 16. There should be an auto-wake-up when you are in danger of dying while sleeping. 17. Things on the raft can fly around randomly when sailing. Example, I watched my fishing pole fly off into the sunset with no chance of retrieval. 18. When the Journal is open, the "check mark" tab flashes constantly. 19. As other have mentioned, I have had my raft flip upside down with no way to recover other than go back to an older save. 20. There should be both a "Continue" (from last save point) and a "Load" (from a selected save point). I most always want to just continue my last save, not have to select a particular one. 21. Need more slots for saved games. Four is not a whole lot, especially when you have to save so often due to the early release version. 22. I would like to be able to open the backpack so I can eat or drink while steering the raft to the next island. 23. Animal spawning needs work. I have had sharks and leopards appear out of nowhere to bite me. I've also seen them just disappear near me. 24. It's easy to accidentally fall off the radio tower ladder. It may be worse if crouching. Also, ladder steps do not always render correctly and have a gap where they are supposed to connect to the frame on one side. 25. If you Quit through "Main Menu" the app exits quickly. If you choose "Desktop" the delay before the app shuts down gets longer and longer until you are seemingly frozen. This also may be worse the more reloads from dying you have done. Again, acts like a memory leak. 26. Pushing a fuel drum on the raft made the raft move as if I was pushing the raft. 27. I accidentally hit "Cancel" while pointing at one of the quest headstones and it destroyed it and made it disappear. I had to restart a save to get it back. 28. After a short fall off a rock which caused very little damage, I immediately died when I was just jumping back on my raft. 29. Let us give names to the "Save" slots. 30. There's no way to tell which food is the oldest and in danger of going bad. Does it automatically take the oldest first when you eat? 31. If you build a plain raft without tires or drums, it always wants to jump up vertically like a wall. You can knock it back down, but the physics will still seem off. 32. The tabs in the Journal do not respond well while you are on the raft. Almost like the click points have moved. 33. The ending escape scene is a very simplistic graphic of the plane flying off in a, not very realistic, way. I feel there should also have been some sort of summary of treasures found, quests completed, animals killed, etc., which I'm sure is probably planned for the final release. Thanks for a great game and continued success with it!

FEB 2025 EDIT -- So i posted my original review below in Sept 2024, there have been a few patches and fixes which is good but the food issue i describe in orgiinal review is still there after playing today (16FEB 2025). Body temp also doesn't seem to matter if you're standing in rain or next to fire. Sorry but this is meant to be a survival game right? Half a coconut is still filling me up way too much so i don't feel like i'm 'surviving'. There is no point in cooking. Really want to play this game and not trying to rush the dev but if you're going to fix stuff, please fix the core elements. Until then this will need uninstalling but will keep following. -- SEPT 2024 Will recommend to someone who has never played similar island type survival games because itā€™s a good game overall. Would throw caution to those who have seen the evolution of similar games (aka stranded deep). Iā€™ll be honest Iā€™m getting bored when I play. that doesnā€™t mean to sound hateful but it all feels a bit ā€˜been here done thatā€™. Itā€™s like weā€™re starting over the evolution of this type of survival beach based game again. I welcome similar games but thereā€™s nothing new, even the inventory is borrowed. Then thereā€™s the recent debacle with hunger depleting too quick, kudos to the dev they patched it but now itā€™s filling up too quick so is it even a survival element anymore. I want the game and devs to succeed and am sure they will balance it again just weary this is tried and tested stuff shouldnā€™t be that hard and makes me question competence.

So the game is fun, but is very obviously in early access. Still lots of tweaks and polishes that need done. The hit boxes are clunky, as is carrying objects in general. Another thing... the grind... It's BAD. Want a simple 5x5 house? Be prepared to chop down every tree on your island. Want anything inside said house? Go to another island and chop all those trees down too. Rough, man. And one huge gripe (sorry, very very minor spoilers) but the intro? Seems VERY calm for an imminent plane crash and then doesn't grab the yoke to actually fly the plane, but rather puts both hands on the dash and just watches it go headfirst into the ocean? I get that game developers aren't pilots, but come on guys. At least have him struggle with the plane a little bit, yeah?

Great graphics and many things to think about as you try to survive...it's like 'spinning plates'...if you can't multi-task....you won't last long. Intriguing and dangerous....very additive. Loving it and I'm a 72 year old pensioner!!! lol

It's a pretty decent survival game with a little exploration. It's easy to sink a ton of hours into it, kind of green hellish, graphics are pretty good. I can't lie some of the animals are jank but I'm not too worried about it. It's still in early access development and the dev team on the discord is actively trying to repair any bugs reported by players which is a really nice thing to see.
