Princess Remedy In A Heap of Trouble is the gameplay sequel/narrative prequel to Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt. Set before the events of said game, AHoT has more enemies, a bigger polish given the time to develop outside of the specs of a game jam and the same charming style the original had. Gameplay remains largely unchanged. Explore the world, finding people to heal their ailments and said healing is done through "Healing Mode+++", where you enter a bullet hell minigame where you have to defeat their sicknesses and problems, most problems having distinct atributes, behaviors and bullet patterns. Alongside your constant firing, you can also use "Flasks" which act as powerful grenades to deal massive damage to a small area. New to this game is the dating system, where when you date someone, they change how your flasks work, encouraging you to try and going out with as many people as you can to try everything, very on brand for the panssexual peppy princess who isn't shy of dating anyone. The only problem with this system is that there is a secret which requires you to not date anyone up to a certain lategame pont in order to get actual full completion, which means that playing around with the main gimmick unfortunately blocks you from the completion and in order to get it, you have to play a watered down version of the game. One of its best features is its broad range of difficulty, accomodating players from all skill levels. I ended up completing on all difficulties, if only because the game is short enough that doing 3 100% runs is not too time costly and to improve oneself at a game are things I enjoy very much. It's a cheap price to pay for a fun game to play with nice retro aesthetic and a charming adventure. Hard to go wrong with this.

--OVERALL REVIEW-- A lot of people compare this game to the game before it and I can see the reasoning for something like that, however, playing through this game I've slowly realized how much was improved from the original. The sprite art for the enemies seems to have a better visual style and it still works with the old PC game aesthetic presumably based on the Commodore 64 or Atari. An underrated aspect of this game is the improvement with the music, the original had very short looped tracks however, this game improves on this by adding longer tracks and a more consistent soundtrack. The overall visual and audio improvements are clear and they add to the game if you pay enough attention. --BUYERS BEWARE OF THE PRICE-- When I bought this game (at the time of the review) it was $10.00, no idea if this was intentional but I'd like to give a fair warning to anyone that if you do not like the original you may not like this game especially for the bumped price as it used to be $5.00 which was far more fair for what you would be getting, maybe it would be best to wait for a sale.

for a five dollar game, it's a very nice bullet hell action adventure. characters are funny, and it made me wanna check out every nook and cranny to complete it. gives a lot of replayability with whoever NPC you decide to date and give certain perks to help you along. much like it's prior title, World of Hurt (which is free, deff check it out), the ending gives out multiple funny possibilities. the shortness and fast paced action would make ya wanna play again and again on harder difficulty or speedrun to the end. again, for five bucks, it's a nice time.

That was very weird but quite fun. Bullet hell game that makes no sense but was a good way to kill an hour.
